I got one when they first came out in 2020, a performance tourer in the black/grey/green colour scheme and I’ve got about 15,000 miles on it now, I bought it for a tourbike/workhorse and really wasn’t expecting that much from it ( got a Panigale for sports duties) but I have to say that the Ninja has more than exceeded my expectations , absolutely brilliant all rounder 👍 We’ve just got back from a European trip, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, then back through Austria, Germany and Belgium on the way home 2,200 miles in ten days ( two of which were on the ferry) 56 hours of riding time and according to the dash it tells me it was averaging 58.1 mpg over the whole trip ( I think it’s a bit of a liar like 🤔?) because we were cracking on when we got the chance. Engine is a marvel of creamy smooth grunt, it just feels unburstable, starts from cold with no mechanical rattling whatsoever, ..unlike the BMW S1000s which rattle their brains out 😫! Can’t say it’s the most desirable thing out there, but it’s really got my respect for it’s capabilities, it just does everything without ever feeling out of its depth, I’m looking forward to banging loads more touring miles on it. If you’re looking for a destination,…. I was really impressed with Austria, I could have spent the whole week there, it’s got everything, chocolate box pretty, glorious Alpine passes, beautiful smooth twisty valley roads and everywhere is just so clean and pretty, my next trip there will be an Airbnb for a month and really spend time exploring the place, ..but as far as the Ninja goes, just buy one, I doubt very much that you’d be disappointed with it 😬👍

Hi, I’ll be heading to Sardinia and Corsica in a month’s time on my 2021 Ninja 1000sx, in total I’ll be doing around 4000 km. How did you manage chain adjustment while on the road?
@1956colinb
@1956colinb Жыл бұрын
@@carlosalonso9866 Hi Carlos, To be honest the chain doesn’t seem to stretch that much, I’ve adjusted it about 3 times in 15,000 miles and most of that was due to fitting new rear tyres. Check it before you go and adjust if necessary and then just forget about it and enjoy your bike holiday 👍

I'm after a new bike, and I had my heart set on a Kawasaki Z900RS SE, plus a set of SW-Motech Legend panniers and the rack. But, then I thought about it, and when you compare the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX Tourer against it, with its far better specification, it works out cheaper, so it's no no-brainer really‪-it's the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX Tourer all day long! At the moment, Kawasaki have got some good deals happening on the MY23 bikes, and there's also a pre-registered one on offer at my local dealer. But, sadly, it's a bit too early due to my circumstances, and I was looking at January/February in time for the March 2024 registrations, before buying a brand-new bike. Also, my insurance is up for renewal at the end of February. But, there again, late winter is a very good time to walk into a motorcycle showroom! As for the Kawasaki Z900RS SE, it's a stunning bike; maybe one for the future. I can recommend Saint Anton am Arlberg, in Austria. It's a lovely village in the Tyrolean Alps, the skiing is fantastic, but also it's great in the summer. I loved the place, gorgeous scenery, and excellent nights out. 👍

Iv’e had mine since 06/21 and really love it. It’s just an honest all round great bike. I’ve only ever ridden mine in sport mode and it does it all. You ride it how you feel. You can chug around or you can really lean on it in the twistiest and it is a ton of fun. Brakes and suspension are good and power is more than you need on public roads. The suspension is incredibly adjustable and you can set it up so easily in a matter of seconds. I had a Tracer and a Tiger before and this makes them feel like antique tractors. I am about to take possession of my new Ducati Desert X and there will be no way I will be departing with my SX

Every now and then I look for new reviews of one the most competent all round bikes ever built .. as a way of saving money and buying something different. I shouldn't need anyone else to tell me just how awesome the SX is, but it's always good to hear someone elses opinion. I record on either 4k or 5.7k depending on which go pro i have on my chin. I use FCPX to edit all my videos, when i create the edit its set up as a 4k file, when i download i make sure i download in the 4k file option too, average file size sits around 3-6GB. From there i just upload straight on to YT, it also makes a difference if the viewer is watching it in 1080 or 4k on their device. Hope this helps and good luck with your videos. After tour through Austria 2022 i swapped tyres from S22 190/50 to Diablo Rosso 190 / 55. 50 profile was quite a bit slower turnin then my old VFR800 and Z900 with 180/55. So 190/50 is very flat and stable for highways. But for constant twisty roads like in alps i prefer the 55 profile. Cant say i enjoy the S22 even with its top spot in test results. Front tyre needs to be replaced after 5500km. But my rear tyre has still 3.8mm thread left.... Usully you will have 2 rear tyres for every front tyre. I guess Bridgestone over engineered the rear but forgot the front....

Tyres are obviously a big thing on a bike which can effect the handling of it, but its not the only thing. I had them on the S1000r I road last week and had no issues with them, along with the MT10 2 weeks ago. each to their own when it comes to tyre preference though. Hi, I live in a big city, Brussels with stop-go traffic during rush hours (most of the time…) and while I prefer doing my commute on a scooter (14 kms each way), I’ll take the Ninja from time to time if I hadn’t have the time to make proper outings during the weekend so that the engine runs and the battery remains charged. It’s a big bike with a big engine so it wasn’t obviously designed for that kind of use, having said that, for me it has been a very easy bike to take downtown for the following reasons: 1. balance, you can roll at very low speeds and the bike keeps it’s line with not a lot of physical input required from the rider, it carries its weight well 2. Elasticity of the engine, you can ride at 45 km in sixth gear and the drive train will not shake 3. Fueling, very smooth 4. Small silhouette if you take the panniers off 5. Brillant mirrors as you can fold them away and they return to the position you had them before so that filtering becomes really easy, by the way, otherwise the mirrors are one feature I don’t like about the Ninja, they don’t give you a good view of what is around you I had other bikes before which I’ve taken to work. None worked better than the Ninja but a smaller, lighter bike would be better, a scooter even more if we’re talking blocked traffic at a standstill. The heat didn’t bother me a lot as we normally have shitty weather. ✌

Kawasaki - great price point for what you are getting. Even at the top tier model line. Bags come as standard depending on what model line you get. Smooth engine and gearbox. Kawasaki reliability. Can still wheelie. 1290 - expensive bike, luggage option is an added £800. Not the smoothest engine. Lumpy down low. 6th gear is pointless. Looks better than the Kawasaki. Awesome amount of tech once unlocked by KTM at an extra price. KTM isn’t the most reliable brand. Had mine since June and it’s had an engine management issue since new. Nearest KTM dealer can’t get it in to fix it till end of October. Loves to wheelie. Right now. Knowing what I know about my 1290. I would probably be looking elsewhere. I know I’ll get a lot of hate for saying it. But that’s just my opinion. Hope this helps. Ride safe.

I would be interested on your thoughts of the gsxs 1000 gt as most reviewers say that’s a better bike but it’s the new bike on the block. I’ve had two SX’s 2017 and 2020

Thanks for the comment. I'll see what I can do Des, currently I have no Suzuki dealers close that I am connected with. However we are always trying to grow DSR as a channel and that means constantly reaching out to other companies. Who knows, maybe Suzuki will be on our books before the end of the year.

Most reviews pick the 1000sx as the better, more refined bike.

@@TK-cl1jm thanks but I know that answer as I have an sx. But their are plenty of reviewers that say the gt with its k5 engine is better. For me the reviews that D.S.R do are their honest opinions not semi professional. Hence the question to them 👍🏿

I think the Suzuki has more vibrations, but a little quicker and less refined

Will full face helmet fit inside side pannier ?

Kawasaki claim the panniers will hold most full size helmets. So it’s down to your personal helmet and its shape really. 🤙

@@DSR1YT thanks for the info. I'm choosing between the ninja 1000sx ang gsx s1000 gt plus. My only concern with the ninja are the clip-ons (more forward) unlike the gt plus with the naked handle bars.

@@enricobenito245 unfortunately at the moment im yet to ride any of the Suzuki's so I wouldn't want to give a one sided view. Hopefully others on here have tested both and can give you their advice. 🤙

The roads in England look dangerous. The lanes look narrow. There was nobody directing traffic at that construction stop. Also, I see cars suddenly appear and drive straight towards you.

@D.S.R. It looks like people are adjusted to the roads in England. I see people driving like the roads are proper. I guess drivers have to adapt.

Not comfortable for anyone over 6 foot. Great engine but questionable ergonomics. A short tourer as opposed to a sport tourer.

Hi, I'm 6ft 1 and would have to disagree. It might be more down to leg length v torso length though. I was really comfortable on this bike. So was my partner and she's 5ft 5 - so it would make sense if you've got long legs that you may feel a bit frog legged!! That being said kawi have the ergo fit so there's things that can be tweaked to make it fit better!! Thanks for the comment 👍
