Good comparison. 3 things keep me on the Kawasaki. The adjustable windscreen, having both headlites on both dim and bright, and the rear shock adjustment is so much easier on the Kawasaki. Add to that at age 72, I did 850 mile ride with friends to the Moto gp race in Austin, Tx several yrs ago. And did it in comfort.

Hats off to you sir. I also ride a Z1000SX but it kills my wrists after 200 miles. Either my riding position is bad or I need bar risers!

You really shouldn’t be putting any weight on your wrists unless you’re doing hard braking. Your legs (downward pressure on the pegs and inward pressure against the tank) and your core (clenching ab muscles) keep your bodyweight off the bars.

Interesting comments about this bike. I have the Suzuki and have 6500 miles on it and feel I made the right choice. Here is my comments: First off, the front brake pads they came with are absolute Junk! I replaced them at 800 miles along with the tires which I switched to Michlin Road 5 GT tires. That improved the feel for the road, along with better traction and mileage. Front tire still looks like new, but rear is starting to wear in the middle. Probably get Michlin Road 6 standard for next set. Stock seat was horrible. Switched to optional Suzuki "style seat" and all day comfort now. Love it. Windscreen is OK. Tried the touring screen. Hated it, went back to stock, and will probably go to a Puig once they come out. The bike has a very comfortable position for a 6'1" 215 lb rider. I added a tuner to the bike and it made the motor pretty near perfect. unfortunately, you can't buy this tuner, as it couldn't meet the latest standards for emissions. i've gone 155 mph with the bags on, so it's pretty fast for a sport tourer, and that was 5th gear at 1000 rpm under redline. The low end power is great as well as a ferocious top end. It feels a little lighter than the Kawasaki and the suspension is pretty decent although it could be even better. Just a set of EBC HH pads up front made the stock brakes very linear, no abs issues ever, and you can ride in second gear at 100+mph or 6th gear at 65 mph, and the shifter is magic. Up or down, no clutch. A mode is sport bike agressive, and B mode is good for high speed cruising. If I had the money, I would probably get a set of lighter wheels, full exhaust (for weight reduction), a better rear shock, and that would about do it. I use the bags for touring and take them off for sport riding.

@@1MrBryn That's very true. Personally, I buy a bike with both my eyes and my heart. It's gotta be a full package or I simply look elsewhere. In this day and age with so many brands and models available, one doesn't have to settle.

@@mickeypopa I 100% agree. I bought a VFR which did everything I needed on the road but absolutely nothing to my heart when I looked at it. It was only after I'd bought it that I realised how important that was and part exchanged it for a Z900RS which looks stunning to my eyes. But of course I still need a sports tourer😂

I’ve just got myself a SX after owning an MT10 after 2 years, also my first sports tourer. Wow, what a bike. Maybe not as bonkers as the MT, but still hits triple figures without trying, handles like a sports bike, buttery smooth and decent wind protection, particularly when you tuck in.

@@R.Stridstrom Hard to say as they're so different. Town riding and lower speeds I'd say inline 4. The CP4 is very clunky and rough at low revs, rides and sounds like a twin. However as soon as opened up the MT10, the inline 4 can't compete with the torque and soundtrack. I do really miss my MT10 and regret selling it.

@@ridingwithsam Yeah, i know they are completely different. Easier to dose, the regular i4's (as you say, the x-plane 270° crank i4 is like a twin). I personally like the predictability of regular ones. It takes off higher up, and i like the howling, but that is my temper speaking, im sure. The 10 is more brutal, but less civil if you would actually want that. Jumpy. But fast, you cant really tell how fast unless you look at the guages... It doesnt sound as fast as it is :) Fun but dangerous on regular roads. I like the i4 better because of the fact you can choose. Also i did think i sat a bit high on the 10, than on a Suzuki, for example, much higher center of gravity, noticeable when flicking. But on the other hand the 10 feels safe, stable, but brutal - a bit schizo if you like. I get why some love it. Just curious how you experienced the shift. A Suzuki S1000 got as much or more grunt a lot of the way, unrestricted, but they are severely restricted on a lot of the gears, and i bet they have made them like they behave by design. Safety reasons or what not. Euro restrictions possibly, but you could unrestrict them. If you want more brutality. Im sure its the same with the Kwak.

I have rode both these bikes and decided to buy the Suzuki, change the tyres and what a difference it will make. In my opinion if you more touring then yes the Kawasaki is the bike, but if like me, you want a sports bike with comfort with the odd trip or two then the Suzuki is the one. The Gixer engine and the short gearbox is what makes the Suzuki rock for the majority of my riding. And unless you pay a grand more the Kawasaki performance model, the sound of the Suzuki stock exhaust wins hands down. Having road the SX1000 for a year, the Suzuki gear box also has the edge in my opinion.

exactement comme toi mon amis la kawa ne ma vraiment pas emballer plus que sa, par contre la zuzu qu'elle pied!! faut dire que chez nous en France tout les modèles sont passée au banc de puissance la kawa 142 il en sort 133 ? la zuzu 152 il en sort 157 le tout en version strictement d' origine!! Ya un monde entre les deux!!!!

Lovely to see those sport tourers getting a bit of the limelight back. I can't bear ADV bikes and tall-rounders, so it's great to see that some other solutions to the touring/sports riding equation exist.

@@davidfletchfletcher So am I ! I'm much earlier in my ownership of the Ninja and I came from an R Nine T (R1250RS before that) but I'm really pleased thus far. I've tried many tall-rounders, and even rented a 1250GS for a few days but none felt as easy to manage in town and as connected to the road as the Ninja. They're not complete do-it-all machines, but they're really quite good at what they do.

Adventure bikes these days are just 2 wheeled SUVs. Most of them will never even see a drop of rain and are too heavy for offroading anyway.

Great comparison video. I’m still 100% committed to getting the Suzuki when it come to the US soon. I had the 2016 GSXS naked bike. Put 64k miles on it and can’t wait to get back on a sporty Suzuki

Had every type of hyper naked, sports tour , Harley ,bike etc over past 15 years.. got the ninja sx- first Japanese bike.. my most favorite bike I’ve had- City commute during the week, 3 hour rides on weekend to weekend home through the mountains.. 6’4 tall, 200 lbs.. no wind buffet, great gas mileage, smooth motor, reliable… first bike I’ve kept over a year… doubt I’ll get rid of for a long time unless they come up with a higher power version..

Great lunchtime viewing thank you for sharing. For anyone who cares, I own the 2020 SX and test rode the GSX recently for a couple of hours. Basically Neeves sums them both perfectly. Normally, when you try a brand new version of something you own, it will always feel better, newer, posher, etc and leave you with the dilema of 'upgrading' However, as Michael states, it really felt the other way round. The Ninja is 'refined' whilst the Suzuki felt worn out .. The only obvious advantage with the GT is that clock/dashboard. Getting back on the Kawasaki the dashboard looked almost comical, but after a few minutes.... who cares.

I have a 2021 1000sx and it is absolutely phenomenal. It does everything very well. I have taken it to the track and kept up with my younger counterparts on their Gixxers, R-1"s and the like. Yes, not as fast and nimble but fast and nimble enough to enjoy a track day and shock others on faster bikes. Where the bike really shines is the gobs of torque almost everywhere in the rev range. On long rides along the glorious Blue Ridge Parkway in the states, comfort and agility is awesome. The side hard cases are great. What really took the 1000SX to the next level was replacing the stock exhaust system to a full Akrapovic exhaust system. It shed over 12 lbs of weight and added more than 10% HP and torque with a great exhaust note (not obnoxiously loud but awesome). Kawasaki has been refining the Ninja 1000 for a long time, and with this bike, they nailed it.....

I had a Tracer for 5 years. I test rode the SX and did the deal on the spot. Clearly the SX has been developed over a number of years and have come up with a great package. The quality and finish is just beautiful. The best bike in this category I have ridden and owned.

@@neoretroguy4488 completely different bike. A lot faster and a lot smoother and suits my back a lot more. I sit too straight up on the Tracer. No more adv bikes for me again.

@@concernedcitizen5506 thank you for this comment, I was thinking about either tracer 9 or vstrom 1050xt and you are another person who suffers from back pain when sitting upright on the bike. I had z1000sx and vfr800 and no lower back pain. I tried upright bikes and they didn't work for me. I'm not alone

I'm 25 and almost 26. As much as I like sports bikes these motorcycles are what's it all about . The perfect balance of sport, looks and practicality in one package. Looking at the kawa now but that suzuki looks insane.

Excellent review. Thank you for the time taken to explore them head to head. I just got my Ninja 1000sx two weeks ago and it really is an astonishing blend of smoothness, power, comfort and amazing looks. I previously had a Triumph Sprint ST so the bar was high. Everyone keeps using the word "smooth" to describe the sx. And really that is the only way to describe it. It's so easy to ride at walking speed but then has a point on the throttle where it takes you to huge power and endless acceleration. Everything is just so easy. And I could look at it all day 🙂

@@tinsje11 Well it's zero to 200 in 10.something so unless you're often travelling at 250 plus, then yes 140 is more than enough for a sports tourers 😅

About mid-videi, I found this a very difficult review to follow. "This one" , "that one", "it" and so on with barely noticeable gestures to indicate which bike was being described. If I still cared, I would have to watch at least two more times to follow the comparison. Definitely not a video for just listening while doing other things.

Yes! I have a 2005 sprint st 1050 and im passing up r1s and zx10s in the corners all day its awesome! Im exited about the speed rr but its more of a sport bike. You can check the sprints top speed on my channel

@@skylinesquid I know mate, I still own a 2006, still the one with lower clip-ons pre-2007, and it’s still a blast! I sat on a Speed rr but the riding position is too sporty and cramped for my taste. If nothing happens in a couple years I will go for the naked Speed rs, but I still hope for a new Sprint. Unfortunately I can’t bear the upright position of the Tiger adv either.

@@peterfallows6802 i don’t know, ADVs are not my cup of tea, I would never buy a Tiger. Test ridden a few among friends, even tested the “mythical” BMW GS, but nope, me no like! I crave a new proper triple sport tourer, make it a little less “focused” speed rr with a more relaxed riding position and a slightly bigger fairing. Doesn’t matter if it will weigh in a few Kgs more.

I had a 2004 ST and rode that all over the place and had it not been for a car/wall interface, I'd still have it. My mate has a 2007 ST 1050 and it is awesome. I now have a Blackbird but the roll on and the sound of his triple is awesome. All day comfort and performance and incredible sound. No idea why they changed it to the GT which just wasn't as good and no manufacturer makes bikes like that now so these 2 are as close as you can get now. If a new triple ST comes out, I may very well be tempted.

The ST 1050 had many endearing features and was a fantastic charasmatic ride (especially with the trident exhausts!) But reliability and quality let it down for me. Doesn't hold a candle to the Kawa on that front.

Loved watching this review from MCN. Nice to see a Conventional SPORT TOURER comparo, which is now a rare event .Was anticipating a clear hands down win for the Suzuki considering its an all new 2021 product , but am pleasantly surprised to know that the Kawasaki is still the King of the Hill as far as sports touring is concerned....Great Job Kawasaki.

I bought my first Ninja 1000 in 2015. Having previously owned a VRF I really thought Kawasaki had raised the bar. When the GSXS-F came out a year later I was very impressed but it lacked panniers. I traded my 2015 Ninja in on a 2021 Ninja last year. Oh my has Kawi changed an already stellar bike into a thing of beauty. Refined is the word I would use. Love my Ninja, best bike I have ever owned.

I just got to demo the 2023 Ninja 1000SX today and was absolutely blown away with how refined and good the bike fit me. Pretty much what these two reviewers were saying seems true to me.

I jump from Versys 650 to Ninja 1000sx and i love it. Little over 10k Miles last season with out problems and i hope will be more that one.

If the Versys was my only option, I wouldn't ride at all. I'd most likely feel the same about any ADV bike....

Just test rode both in the last week.. different roads though. My take on them.. The brakes on the kawsakl feel miles better, the suzuki feels a lot more aggressive putting down the power. The suzuki seemed to have quite a lot more vibration around 5000 rpm. For a tall rider 6ft 5 the suzuki felt a bit better, I think the bars are slightly higher than the kawasaki and just felt more upright on it, however could be resolved with bar risers I suppose. The seat on the Kawasaki more comfortable. The suzuki standard exhaust sounds miles better than the kawasaki. The TFT display on the suzuki is much nicer than the kawasaki.

Just swapped my 2020 Ninja 1000sx for a Ninja H2 sx se, I know price wise it's not comparable but if your budget can stretch that far go try one, it's absolutely amazing. Love my sx and have done a couple of tours on it and loved every minute. The h2 though is just a different class, can't wait to get away on it

Since the original release of the GSX-S1000, I've complained about Suzuki not revising gear ratios. Those ratios are straight out of the 2005 GSX-R1000, with zero change. 1st gear is one of the tallest on the planet, and 2 through 6th are all smashed together after that. It's pointless in a big naked bike, and they haven't done a thing with those gear ratios moving over to the GT. It's just laziness by Suzuki. GRIND A FEW NEW GEAR SETS. How hard could it be. Surprised you guys didn't do a point-to-point comparison of some of the details between these. Vibration, instrument display, clutch action, shifter function, seat comfort/shape, weight, handling neutrality, fuel economy, and silly things like who wins a race between a couple stoplights.

I agree with you. I feel like this was more of a touring comparison and less of a sporty comparison. The gear ratios are a shame, suzuki will likely revise that after a couple generations. Not sure why they couldn't get that done with this overhaul...

@@carterjoseph1475 It's been 6 years. Mostly new 2022 out, no change. Addition of the GT model. No change. They don't have to change the engine cases, clutch cases, shifting mechanism, literally anything else. All they have to do is grind new gear sets and press them on the transmission shafts.

I just purchased the 2020 SX. SWEEEET bike as I'm sure the GT is. I am beyond words as far as the gearing is concerned. ALL THAT MOTOR and running out of gear way way before it runs out of power. I'm genuinely curious WHY ? LIMIT the bike at 150 IDC, just let it cruise where a litre bike SHOULD cruise, not at 4500 rpm and not near halfway to redline. It takes a lot of the fun and feel away. Surprised and glad you mentioned gearing and the GT being geared even slightly shorter. I'd gladly add two teeth to the counter sprocket and take 3 from the rear, but abs and traction control won't function properly and no one has programmed to correct it. Neither company could offer a higher gearing package ? Not everyone likes to cruise easily at that high of an rpm. Totally unnecessary !!!!!!

@@ripvango3489 Gearing cannot be fixed on the Suzuki without the company grinding a new set of transmission gears. The counter shaft sprocket would fix the tall 1st and make it shorter..... and then make 6th gear worse. You could make 6th gear tall and cruisy...... and then make 1st gear impossibly tall. You lose either way you go. ABS and traction control, if I'm understanding right, function based on wheel speed sensors, not countershaft RPM. ECU flash would fix any codes, issues in that department. Ninja Z1000SX is geared better but not perfect, and makes fatter torque in the middle. I'd go with the Z1000SX in the sport tourer, and GSX-S1000 in the naked bike. But honestly, I prefer the 850-950cc range naked bikes the most for their versatility and cost. You can tour on them with a little effort.

@@exothermal.sprocket not sure what my comment said, I'm fine with the tall gearing on my 600 GSXR. The gearing on my 2020 Ninja SX is ridiculously low. Bike runs out of gear WAY before it runs out of torque. Nothing I can do about the transmission but I'd happily go way taller on the sprockets. Problem is traction control and abs will not work as accurately or properly as designed. And no one is programing for that change. I'll just live with it.

I love the looks of the GSX-S and almost reserved one but was worried about the riding position being a touch cramped in the legs as I'm a lanky bugger. I went for the Tracer 9 GT in the end which I love as it's incredibly comfortable and capable but I still find myself looking longingly at the Suzuki as it's so pretty. 😍

Reviewers, a question. Suzuki spent time in the wind tunnel making the bike’s bodywork aerodynamic for reduced wind resistance, quieter ride, less wind buffeting, and theoretically protecting the rider’s upper body from rain as well as lower body from water splashing the rider during riding in the wet. Did the reviewers notice any of these benefits? How does it compare to the Kawasaki or other sport tourers in this regard? Thank you.

When it first previewed, they seemed to like the aero package. I'm surprised that despite the lack of adjustable windscreen, not too many complaints about it.

I'm planning on buying the Suzuki. As far as reliability, I'm pretty sure that K5 will be much more trouble free than the Kawasaki.

I’m 5’6 also, had a 2013 and 2017 z1000sx, was excited when the newest version came out, but…. Just too tall, I’d have needed it lowered and that would comprise handling. Had the gsx-s1000f and loved the more powerful engine and lower seat height, increased my slow speed confidence greatly. Hopefully picking up my Reflective Blue at the end of March /start April

Great comparison. I daily commute on a 2021 Ninja 1000SX, and I agree- the number one adjective I would use to describe it is "smooth," followed by "refined." For my daily commuting and sporty, multi-day touring, it is almost perfect. I am glad to see the new Suzuki introduced, as practical sportbikes with luggage make the world a better place.

I am also the happy owner of the Ninja in Tourer version (would never "waste" money on a can) and I agree with what you say, but I have caught myself thinking "perhaps a bit boring in its near perfection .."

@@HallaghanH The comfort on long rides is very good, with a comfortable seat and OK wind protection, cruise control, upright seating position. Regarding moving up from a 500cc ADV bike to this, it might be OK or it might be a bit of a stretch depending on your type of riding and experience level. I think that it is a very, very easy motorcycle to ride, and very smooth, with multiple ride modes to get up to speed. That said, it will be significantly faster and most likely heavier/wider than the any 500cc adventure bike. That said, I think that it is worth a test ride! Cheers

Thank you for this! Been waiting. These two (and one more) are at the top of my list for purchase. The other - which you guys wrote off because of tire size(?!) - did not get compared, the Tracer 9 GT. It's got 17s F&R, and though the seating position is (apparently) more upright, testers seem to not know how to categorize it; though it's CLEARLY not an adventure bike. But let's be real: it's in the same category with 17s, more standard features appropriate for touring, and - when equipped similarly - is about the same price. I think it all comes down to fit and slightly different personal priorities and riding needs. All brilliant. None would be a disappointment. For the S1000GT, Road 5s, another tooth, maybe different pads...the choice would be much harder. In the US: 1000SX, add touring pack @ $1400, $14,300 total S1000GT+ (includes touring kit), Road 5s ($500), sprocket ($100), $14,400 9 GT (already optioned-up), $14,999

I'm currently on a 2012 SX and let me tell you...HH Sintered pads, ECU Flash by Ivan's Performance, Airbox mod, and a 190/55 rear over the 190/50 makes it an absolute beast of a different bike.

Suzuki for me. That motor, some new tires and maybe some different pads would do it wonders. Its looks are out of this world. At its price it really is a no brainer. Working at a dealership we've come across many electrical/starting/running issues on many of our kawasaki, and even some of the new ones. The GSX will be running happily 150,000 miles without any doubt. Just saw a GSX with 200,000+!

I own a 21 1000SX and love it. I will ride the Suzuki and do my best to be objective. If it is better, it may replace the Kawasaki, but I think I’ll end up keeping mine

With the Suzuki, you're pretty much getting a GSXR frame/engine. With Ninja that's simply not the case, e.g., its rear swingarm is not from the ZX10R and looks rather weak. No wonder it's not as sporty as the GT.

Michael Neeves is the only reviewer who's had the sense to point out that the Suzuki's great top gear roll on is the result of way too short gearing. Its ratio is the same as a 47 BHP two stroke T500 I rode in 1975 ! On further recollection, I was incorrect, but not in a flattering way. The T500 was turning over at 5,000 RPM at 80 MPH. This Suzuki is only doing 70 at, 5,000. Way too busy.

An F700gs is 70mph at 4500rpm the 2 stroke 500 made it's power actually fairly low in the rpm range the old 2 strokes did. The T500 was a cool bike I was glad they were still around when I started riding. They sounded nice.

Sounds like about the same as my old GSXR. I don't know about this bike,but my GSXR feels perfectly smooth out on the highway.

Nice review. The Kawasaki seems just that bit more refined & polished. Although seemingly not much wrong with the GT & hopefully Suzuki can get it on par with the Kawasaki in the next year or so. Suzuki best SPORTS tourer & Kawasaki best sports TOURER possibly? Although either way I'm waiting for the Moto Guzzi V100. : )

Two great bikes. Bought a new 1000 SX when they came out in Jan of 2011. Loved it the 9 years I owned it. Bullet proof and fun bike, although a little heavy. Changed things up and got a T7, very diff bike but I use it differently. Wouldn't hesitate to go back to ninja in a couple years.

Lowered foot pegs and bar risers, tall screen and a set of bags on a ZX14R still takes my vote as the best tourer honestly. Comfy and 400km fuel range. Exceptional wind blockage. Plus more torque than you know what to do with. If it were updated with cruise control it would own the market.

Had a ZX14 sold it and went to '20 H2 SX SE, it is better for touring and just more comfortable and a lot better handling. Definitely would consider the Z1000 personally

I have a 2020 Hayabusa with pannier. Just took a 9000 mile trip in May and loved every mile. I bet even the ZX14 would be great.

This was a great review but one thing I don't think I heard mentioned was, "but would you get on it and ride it for 400 miles?" I've owned many motorcycles including 2 Hayabusa 's, a ZX-14 and ZX 10r. But, of all these bikes my 2011 Ninja 1000sx is the most amazing all-around motorcycle I've ever owned! I never really missed any of the faster more powerful bikes because my Ninja just did everything well. It never ceased to make me giggle and I still own it today! I have not ridden the newest 1000sx but with all the upgrades I assume it's just that much better? I did ride my 1000sx 400mi and that was pushing it past the extreme of seat time and comfort. Almost unbearable! That bike is nice but it's no Gold Wing. All this being said I've been eyeing the new GSX 1000 GT with keen interest.

In my opinion the only two things the SX has over the GT is the IMU (which is not even the end of the world) and handle for the adjustable preload rear shock. Aside from that, the GT is superior in every way; looks better, more power, flawless quick shifter and auto blipper, more storage, better dash.

The Suzuki hasn't got a remote rear suspension preload adjustment so it's a hands and knees job with a C spanner complete with skinned knuckles.

Had a chance to ride both of these bikes at Daytona last week and I have to say this review is actually spot on. Kawi was much more polished and I was impressed with just about everything. Suzuki also a great bike but quality doesn’t match the Kawi and the the brakes are way number than they should be for such a great engine.

We have both - got the GSX a couple of months ago and the Ninja two weeks ago. You can’t go wrong with either one. The seat to peg distance is a bit tighter on the Ninja but that’s the only thing of note IMHO. Both winners.

Thanks guys, great overview of these two bikes. I’ve been looking for a proper sports tourer for some time to replace my lovely old fazer 1000. I’m not sure either of these are a like for like replacement really. No centre stand is one issue. I’m assuming no top box is available on either bike, although you don’t specifically cover anything about luggage which would have been useful. When you actually own a bike long term these things become a deal breaker for me. I think I’ll keep my fazer….

Top-Boxes are available for the Ninja 1000 from factory, Givi or Shad on dedicated racks that work with the factory panniers. Top-boxes can also be mounted on racks the replace the pillion seat. Though obviously compromised, that's also a solution.

I think the centre stands might have been deleted because of the exhaust boxes required for Euro 5. It is a slightly annoying omission, particularly for chain maintenance on the road, but that's the only annoyance I've had with my Ninja 2020

@@G100666 I actually traded my 2001 Fazer for a 2015 z1000sx,. The zed is a good substitute and you wouldn't be disappointed. Its capable, competent not as comfortable (due to the poor seat on this year model, supposed to have improved on later models) but has a good spread of torque low down, better wind protection, excellent brakes and I'd be damning it with faint praise if I only said it was a reliable, solid tourer. Its better than that and you can have fun on one when the panniers come off. Turn in feel isn't as good, kinda drops in but is steady once keeled over. It's very popular for a good range of solid performance reasons. A bit like the Fazer in being a dark horse, whose engine brakes and comfort were major plus points although suspension and frame contributed to softer, slightly vague handling in my eyes. Had my Fazer for 10 years so there's obviously little wrong with it and my z1000sx for 6 years. I can only imagine a later model zed would be a bigger step up.

These bikes are all the bike most riders need for the road but they don't seem to sell in great numbers. I guess because they don't pull on the heart strings as much as others. What I want from a bike and what I actually need are a bit different. I've longed for more choice in this range since I test rode the original Fireblade and wanted its engine in my 750 VFR but nothing has quite ever hit the mark for me. Dabbled with a R1200RS (loved it but pillion not so much) and had a K1200S (heavy low speed handling and poor luggage) but the Kawasaki SX is still not quite there for me. I'd want heated grips, tft with phone integration for nav, easily adjustable suspension to account for different loads and road surfaces (ideally electronic) and decent pillion accommodation.

I like the anytime tourq on the sx, the comfort, and both lights stay on on low beam. The shocks are good and the brakes are good on the sx also. I just got a ninja1000sx 2024 model and I love it.

A great review. Thank you. I was set on buying the Suzuki. Now, I need to ride the Kwaka. Tyres? It’s a shame that some manufacturers do put rubbish tyres on a bike that could be a deal breaker for the less experienced riders, however I was still planning on have the Suzuki’s swapped before pick up to something better. The S22’s are ones I was contemplating. That Suzuki blue however is timeless. Love it! 👍😎🇦🇺

Stay away from the s22s, they make the z1000sx feel pretty unstable on the motorway when and they tramline a lot. Fir the Metzeler Roadtec 01 tyres instead. The Pirelli Diablo Rosso III tyres are also better than the s22s.

My two favourite MCN road testers. Great review guys but I'd guessed the result before watching the video based on emotional feelings only. I've never had a Suzuki make my, well let's say make my feel good in a special way. Nice job guys 👍 Loved the "tell me a out the tyres" comment at the end 😂

Good review of two great bikes. Please, a note to the video editor. Please tone down the tunes a little bit so that we can enjoy the sounds of these lovely bikes. I love the center stand on my 2020 FJR1300, plus the shaft drive. However, apparently it will not be manufactured for too much longer. Damn it.

Definitely one of the main reasons I ride is to listen to my motorcycle engine, I absolutely love to hear my engine screaming along. When I watch reviews it's the same thing, I want to hear the engine noise I sure don't want to hear that music you have blaring. Only good thing I can say is it's not bad music but that's not the point, and it's not what I watch a motorcycle videos for. I want to hear the sound of the motor and the more of it the better. It's really a shame because it's quite a nice video other than that. So one more time turn the music off okay? I still gave you a thumbs up and enjoyed the video very much. Very informative.

No one ever mentions this but the SX sorta cheaped out on the rear swingarm construction, unlike the S1000GT (which Kawasaki desperately tried to hide with the giant exhaust, but you can see it on the chain side). To me this is a significant difference in their chassis. Its a compromise one would never accept in a supersport, but perhaps in a tourer its more acceptable.

Good work, how did they handle other than not liking tyres? Pannier size difference and wind noise? Any stability differences? I have a center stand on my sports tourer and yet to ground it, despite spanking it! Hopefully you can do another long trip when its warm, dry and leaves on the trees. nice bikes and thanks suzu for bringing options in this segment, but at the end kawa has more substance and refinement: radial brake pump (instead of the cheap one on the suzu), remote preload adjuster, adjustable screen, IMU.... suzu got better tft if you like this kind of things

Agreed on the tires on the Suzuki, they’re the same ones that come on my Katana and they’re just really vague and questionable when you’re coming into a corner with decent speed. Once they’re burned out after this season I’m getting much better ones. The only two things I can say positively about them is that they’re inexpensive and they’re getting me pretty decent mileage.

I am considering a new motorcycle and the video helped me foresee the features and advantages of each model. I absolutely appreciate the truthfulness of the comparison of both bikes. Must have been a nice ride gentlemen. I went to see both bikes at my local leadership. I rode the Kawee 2020 model and I loved it. I also like the fact that the Suzuki comes with bags and is ready to cross any state line. Yet, I like the overall Ninja package. Decision time... 😁

Interesting review, particularly as I have recently had a test ride on the Suzuki, and found it "fits" me better than the Kwak. As you said the tyres are letting it down, what would you fit if the Suzuki was yours? Thanks.

@@christophereaves7108 Yes, with no reservations, Road 5s. Have them on two bikes now, and they were transformed. Outstanding tire with dry/wet grip, and they are wearing exceptionally well.

They are both so good - as is the Tracer 9 GT - it would really come down to fit. No bad choices here.

Nice review. My 2007 25th Anniversary VFR is everything ive needed but its a little light for 2 up riding. Did you get to spend any time with passengers?
