Use this bike for my 2 hour commute 1 day a week, love it for the journey, its happy doing the long distances and great fun for all the other bits. I do agree that any more and its less enjoyable so wouldnt tour on it at least not without a bigger wind shield and thicker seat!

Did my learnings and tests on er6ns. Fun and great in traffic, but a little cramped for my 6ft 3ins frame. For commutes would be fine though. I have an old gsx600f which I find very comfortable for all my needs (just pleasure rides these days!). Cheers, Andy.

Try a bmw gsa for decent buffering protection ,as your vertically enhanced. I've seen many commute into London on them. Ivan is flexible for those occasional longer runs but it does have the fun factor that may be lacking on more conventional tourers.

I don't know why but I have a thing against BMWs. Never owned one but...

Great trip on Ivan! How did you fuel use? Better or ok than what you thought?

Much better than in town riding. 140/150 ish to the tank rather than 100/110.

One of the learner bikes i used was an ER6 with an aftermarket can on. I loved that thing but at the time it was a little cramped for my leg to deal with and ended up on the Versys instead. I was going to buy an ER6N when I passed but opted for a SV650s instead.

I had an SV650S for commuting many years ago, loved it but was a little too cramped for me for any journeys over 30 minutes.

@@sidwainhouse I ended up getting an inflatable seat cover to get a bit more leg room. If I kept it I would have probably lowered the pegs. It had a scorpion can with the cat removed and was LOUD. My 80 year old neighbour was sad I sold It lol. he enjoyed hearing me ride off on it.

Hey man, can I ask what height you are and how the ER6(n) compared tot he SV650 in terms of (non-)crampedness? :p I'm still doing my research and it's hard to find the time and place to just go out and try everything so any experiences shared are welcome tbh

I am 6 foot 3. The sv felt smaller in my opinion but that was a while ago. The ER6 is a little small but I don't feel cramped on it.

@@KindOldRaven I'm 6ft2, maybe a bit taller in boots. My right leg didn't bend all the way due to injury so it was painful on the bike. By the time I had passed I had recovered enough for it not to be so bad. I'd need to go back and try and ER6 again to compare but with some padding on the seat the SV was comfortable for hours. The padding was used to slightly raise me up so I could stretch my leg a bit more. My un injured leg never had any problems.
