were you able to get the factory grip off of the throttle tube or did you go with a new tube for the new grip? I have the same bars I am about to change and want those grips as well but I hear that the grip is almost impossible to remove from the tube.

It's glued on and not able to save it. You need to cut it in half and rip it off.

Do you still love it? How many miles are on it now? Have there been any problems with it? When they first came out there was a high idle problem. Now there is an aftermarket part that can be put in that fixes that. The only other bug for me that it has, sort of, is the small tank. I ride a motor scooter and need to refill every 75-100 miles. I suppose I could do that with the KLX too, but the mileage would be much less. This engine seems to have a loud rattle like noise coming from it. Is it the timing chain? Yamaha TW200 engines make the same sound. It makes me wonder if such will become a problem in the future.

The bike did great at everything I threw at it. After I crashed and totaled the forst bike I got a new one from insurance. Riding wasn't as fun anymore so I sold it a year ago with less then 1000 miles. Crash video is on my channel. Ride safe

@@jaysonsvisions5024 thanks for checking. Do you get a lot of noise reflected by your ricochet skid plate? I do especially in 1st around 8-9mph. Totally goes away when the plate comes off.

Way to quiet. Congrats. I've only seen exhaust for the 230r and you have to reprogram the bike. There's a couple FB groups of us that will be more helpful. Enjoy the ride

You can remove the baffle and that will make it louder. I seen a video on here about it. Subscribe if you like I'm always going in adventures

It was extremely hard trying to remove the screws from the cap with Allen keys , my bf stripped one my grandfather had to drill it off even used a torch on it . Once we got that off there were more screws that are way too hard to remove so we gave up before we end up stripping those too . I was gonna take it to the shop to see if they can remove it . If not we will have to drill holes .

I'm not a mechanic but I dont think drilling holes in your exhaust will give you the outcome you are looking for. They do make a exhaust for the 230R but you have to get a new programming device also and have your hike tuned. Drill out the baffle if anything. Just hate to see your new bike get hurt worse comes to worse. Theyll have exhaust soon enough I hope.

Not all the time but it is in one now. 10x10 and only has my 2bikes in it. Went on a 8day roadtrip to Death Valley and didnt want it sitting outside the whole time.
