You make things look very easy Dan and your detailed description just simplifies things even further. I don’t own a KLX300 but I enjoyed following along regardless. Looking forward to your next instalment. Cheers.

I just checked my exaust clearance , it looks like they closed. 1 is at 0.155mm and the other is between 0.076 and 0.102. You think its normal?

brother, do you happen to know the valve on it can be ground in or just milled properly?

I love my 98 300r but it’s a pain in the butt to get started! I can kick it easily but it takes sometimes 30 kicks for it to start, and once it’s hot it really doesn’t like to start
@MOTODANS11 ай бұрын
Sounds like there is an issue in the carb. Mine at most will take 5 kicks from cold if it has been sitting for a few weeks. If it's in regular use starts first kick cold or hot
@50french2311 ай бұрын
@@MOTODANS thanks for the suggestion, do you run the stock carb?
@MOTODANS11 ай бұрын
Yep stock carb and all stock jets and settings, top of airbox removed and the butt plug removed from exhaust

@@MOTODANS hmm, I’ll have to look into the butt plug removal mod! 😂

Hi dan, should the acr have play on the end of the cam, bike started makeing a small wear sound after the last ride, iv taken the valve cover off to inspect the head and i noticed the acr has alot of side to side play, is this normal or should i replace the exhaust cam.cheers
@MOTODANS7 ай бұрын
What is moving the actual pressed on part? There should be no play in that.
@tjroxs217 ай бұрын
@MOTODANS the pressed on part is solid but the other bits attached to it have alot of play

@@tjroxs21 mine did have some play hard to say without comparing what would be excessive though

@MOTODANS thanks for the reply, looks like timing is out half a tooth this might be the noise I'm hearing, time to get a new timing chain 😅

Hi Dan, is this the same process for a 2021 model 300?
@MOTODANS Жыл бұрын
Acr mod wont be required on yours, Valve check procedure will be the same, unsure if the specification for the clearance is the same though

Hello mate , out of interest can the later cam be fitted in the 99/2000 bikes @@MOTODANS
@MOTODANS Жыл бұрын
@robertcampbell8311 Yep as far as I know they can. That would be your 2 options on the early ones newer cam or the acr mod
