I’ve been pulling my hair out since Friday. No start on my kawi. Started off with no spark. Then I eventually got spark consistently. Went through the whole gammit of stuff. New coil, multiple new plugs, different working carb, new fuel etc etc etc. Sand grounds bal blah blah. Finally got down to deciding it was time to continuity test wires from stator to cdi. First obvious problem. The flywheel weigh set screws weren’t tight. Took it off. Rapped the flywheel with the hammer a couple times and pulled it off and there it was. The infamous sheared woodruff key. Damnit! $4 part ruined my race weekend a month ago and had me in fits since Friday when I finally decided to put the new coil in.

Good find, sucks that it ruined a weekend of ripping but alteast its fixed. I had a similar issue with my 2000 rm125, the previous owner never tightened the flywheel nut. When it eventually backed off, it wedged the flywheel against the ignition cover, causing the 2 pieces of the flywheel to twist . I chased that no start condition for 2 weeks. It had spark so thats what threw me for a loop! Good find and thanks for watching.

@@Mitchlovin145_mx that's most of the reason I was hesitant to get further into it because I had spark too. The day I got it home I ohmed the coil and it was out of spec. That's when I ordered 2 new ones and 2 new plugs. Then it sat for a month until Friday. Then my garage blew up with rants.
