Thanks a lot for this video!! Even though the kx85 is a bike that’s been around for ages there’s not many tutorials on these. So needless to say this is much appreciated!! You have my 👍🏻 and follow

Thank you SO much! I just bought my son a 1994 KX80 Big Wheel and I am rebuilding the forks with a Pivot Works kit and I couldnt figure out how to get the 14mm hex nut off of the piston! All I needed this whole time was a long screwdriver to hild the piston still! 😂😂😂

It’s simple once you know the trick 😀

Took me a little bit to get my orientation switched around, my bikes (Bonnie and the Yamaha) have right-side-up forks so that's how I'm used to seeing the internals. Brings back memories of putting Race Tech cartridge emulators (and stiffer springs) in the Bonnie (amazing transformation), but that also involved drilling through the damper rod (went from a single 1/16th" bleed hole to six 5/16th" ones). When I read over the directions and got to that step I couldn't help but think, "Do what?"

Be sure to loctite your compression unit and pull up on the cartridge all the way through to make sure they are bled all the way

Great job! Just wanna ask - the long screwdriver doesn't harm or scratch the inside wall of the tube?
@2WR4 жыл бұрын
Not if you're careful.

Gonna be doing this to my sons 2014 KX85 this winter. Never done it before. Thanks for the video. As a side note, you'll never get youtube sponsors. Calling your "Glad Clingwrap" the competitions name "Saran Wrap" isn't good for business! :)
@2WR4 жыл бұрын
Lol if I get cling wrap sponsorship offers, I’ve done something wrong. Good luck with the work this winter!

if i wanted to just change the fork springs, can i do it on the bike?
@2WR2 жыл бұрын
I can think of some ways that could be accomplished and they would all be a giant PITA.

Does anyone here happen to have the torque specs for the triple clamps on the 2005 kx85 ??
