Yes, it took us a long time to get all the testing done and make sure the results were accurate. Thank you for hanging in there.

A lot of good info in these videos! Thanks for takin the time to posts your results. I really liked the FMF sound. Now to check if they sell just the slip-on.

Thank you for the comparisons, you guys are great. I've made up my mind... not to purchase anything. I will stick with stock, as 2.5 HP is nothing to a normal rider, only to those who race it.I'm happy to know that Kawasaki did an awesome job at tuning this bike stock.

Educalifa, Every pipe we have ever tested,250 or 300, has made more power with their insert in. It has to do with back pressure and keeping the fuel/air charge from escaping during the exhaust cycle. Jose has a special going now on pipes and Power Commanders. Another funny fact is that the stock , unmodified air box works best too. We found opening up the box resulted in noticeable power loss. Fuel too; regular gas is just as good as Trick race gas or VP race gas without a compression boost.

Could the power loss, resulted by too much air while making these modifications, be fixed by remapping the ECU? Could it even give a greater increase in HP?

R77 for the win!

+joshua rugg GP Corsa for this one in my opinion, its much lighter and has that little bit more HP. but i have to admit that the R77 is the sexiest :)

Thanks for taking the time to do this comparison. I have a question though. Did you do your initial dyno tests with only 200 total miles on the clock? If so, I can certainly understand why the initial results weren't spectacular since the new engine isn't broken in yet. It makes sense that at 500 miles you got much better results as new Ninja 300 engines seem to be really tight from the factory. I've just hit 500 miles on mine this week and can tell you the engine seemed to really come alive after about 450 miles on the clock. Let me qualify that by saying I've broken mine in gently - the old school way - as I plan to keep the little Ninja for a long time. And what a shock... no metal in the oil my 1st oil change a couple of days ago! Not only did I examine the drained oil closely but I dropped a strong magnet in the drain pan and swirled it around in the oil repeatedly trying to find some metal. Another question comes to mind. It appears from your chart the initial power output was around 35 HP and increased to around 40 HP at 500 miles. Is it fair to say the improved horsepower gains at 500 miles are substantially due to the engine being broken in and loosening up? Thanks!

I overlooked the slip on weight savings on the chart. All of the header sections are very similar in weight so the weight savings with a slip on will be close to the savings of the full systems since the differences in weight is in the mufflers. Bill

Willey, All these pipes we tested were really loud. Loud enough to be be considered obnoxious by some people. If you go to our web site NINJA250 RACER.COM and look at the early tests(200 street miles chart ) you can see the DB readings. All 3 aftermarket pipes sound remarkably similar. One video even shows a dyno run with NO muffler! We now have a special sale price for a slip on and the power commander.

Hey I know this is an old vid but that website seems long gone. Any chance of finding those dyno figures somewhere? I'm trying to decide on what to do with my 2015 Z300 and any info would be really helpful. Thanks.

In the video it looks like you tested the Leo Vince with the baffle insert (aka Db Killer) on... was that the case? I would have thought it'd make more power without it.

Looked at the website how about a comparison of slip on weight savings over stock, i only saw full system weight savings.

the power comanders maps, did you only adjust fuel or did you adjust timming as well? are you releasing the pc5 maps?

wow... thanks for the reply!! I saw so many ppl talking about running pod filters, thought that would yield the most power since 'in theory' you'd get more fresh air. I'm gonna boost the compression but have been playing with the idea of porting and polishing the head a bit... have you guys tried that? I was thinking it would benefit of a bit more breathing then again, I thought the same thing in regard to the filter and the exhaust and you showed it is not the case. Thanks a lot of the reply!

We only adjusted fuel. We are selling Power Commanders with the maps on them, but I don't know if we're planning to sell just the maps. Let me ask Bill tomorrow (he's at the track today) and I'll let you know. Barb at Skagit Powersports

144p! Good vid though, but why the potato-cam? Did you guys tune the systems once the full-exhaust was added? I don't think most knowledgeable riders would just add a full-exhaust and call it a day. My full Yosh system dynos at 40.2 HP after a custom tune/flash. Slip-ons are nice because Yosh now makes a DOT-legal slip-on, and you can throw one on without worrying about a custom tune or piggyback ECU unit. Another advantage of the aftermarket exhaust (besides lower weight, better looks and better sound) is that you're better-heard by dozey cagers and, the smaller cans free-up space around your right boot. The stock exhaust easily interferes with the right boot, even if you ride with the balls of your feet on the pegs.

I have a ninja 300 with e akrapovic but I don't know if it's slip on or full. What would be the performance increase over stock wit akrapovic slip or full system.

mmm pay to play and that 2-3 hp will make a diffreince but what i learned to realy open the bikes up intank/filter will work ecu reflash/tuned and full system for shits and giggles a higher cam will realy wake up the motor with all this modes but thats about 3000 down the road with 25-30 hp more. then a port polish job allround. ^^ from what iv learned from my uncle working on his harley but its a diffreint brand and model then this but the basics always help ur motor and eco.

The reason there was so little HP gain, I think is the heads flow is maxed out on the 300, instead of the 250 is came from. Do some port work & raise the CR & more power will be made, or it should. lol Still a great little motor, for the weight it's carrying around. Thats my 2 cents.....Well 3 cent with inflation.
