Got a busa but I'd buy a zx14r in a heartbeat if I had the cash. Both bikes are beautiful imo.
@kellymackie39822 жыл бұрын
@@muhammadsteinberg Yes I agree, before I bought my Busa and spent a year building into the vision I've been holding on to since the 2nd gen came out I was always a Kawasaki fan. Since I was a kid I've ridden Kawi dirt bikes and had a few different KZ1000, a 1000LTD, remember those? That was a cool bike in it's day. Then I had the bad boy, ZL 1000 Eliminator, the Ninga powered drag bike clone. Had a super long wheelbase, was shaft driven and just would light up the tire on acceleration. That was back in 1987, what a bike for it's time! The 90s came along and I happened to grow out of the speed thing for awhile and bought a new Yamaha Venture touring, after that Honda Goldwings. Even tho I was getting older and riding touring bikes I was still a Kawasaki fan through and through. But...... Since the Hayabusa came out in 99 I secretly wanted one, didn't tell anyone. For years I thought to myself, that was the coolest looking bike in the world! Most of all I loved the front end. You could always tell it apart from the other sport type bikes because of the trademark headlight and fairing styling. Always loved em, and always wanted one, knew one day I would. My first legal street bike was in 1975. All through the years I pretty much stayed to the cruisers type Japanese bikes and never even thought of riding a sport bike because of the seating position would be no good for my normally 500 mile a day rides. Fast forward to 2019. I don't know how it happened but I acquired a bug that I couldn't shake. I had just retired from working and I was finally going to build my wicked cool vision of the extended and lowered tricked out 2nd gen Hayabusa. I did my research, knew I wanted a 2012 because I wanted the 2nd gen but without any rider aids like traction control and anti lock brakes etc. I found a very low mileage, completely stock, virgin Busa that had never been beat on or raced. It was in Sacramento California and I lived in Eatonville Washington, a long way to go. I loaded up my pickup with a bunch of tie downs, ramps, and headed south. That was a long drive but the first time I laid eyes on it, love at first sight. Got it home, took it for a quick ride to try it out before I took it all apart, it scared the crap out of me! Remember, I'd been riding Goldwings for the last 20 years. Once it was warmed up I was pulling away from the first traffic light at the Kapowsin highway intersection, just barely rolled it on and the front end stood straight up, scared me so bad I pulled over to the side of the road, turned it around and went home. I bet you know the first parts I ordered? The long swingarm to make it more controllable and the Brock's performance alien head ll, 4 in to 1 exhaust because I hate stock exhaust! Almost a year later and over $25,000 in parts, accessories, tuning & custom paint I have the Busa of my dreams. It's safe to say, it's the most exciting bike I've ever ridden, definitely my favorite bike I've ever had, even though I am usually done riding it after an hour or so, and you cannot park it anywhere without drawing a crowd. I have to laugh when I go riding with my buddies on their high dollar custom Harleys, and when we park to go eat or get gas, most people walk by the Harleys to get a closer look at the Japanese speedster. One last thing to say on my long winded message, I'm really glad that I waited until I'm old and careful to have a bike like this. It's crazy fast and scares the heck out of me every time I get on it. At 50 mph in second gear when you roll on the throttle to pass 3 or 4 cars the tire goes up in smoke, quickly go to third n fourth, when you go around the 4th car I look down to see how stupid I am, and the speedo is reading 145 on a two lane 55 mph road, what a rush for the old guy! And the best part, it hardly ever wheelies anymore with the long wheelbase, it just blows through rear tires. This my friend is why I choose the Busa over the ZX 14. It's just a loyalty thing that happened over a lot of years. I'm sorry about such a long winded message Muhammad, this subject we are talking about just kinda put me in a story telling mood thinking about my many years of enjoying our favorite pastime. Thank you Muhammad and all who write the incredible comments I so enjoy to read

@@kellymackie3982 Switching to the Suzuki was a blessing. Between 115-120 the Kz1000A (mine) had a death wobble. Brought the gixxer in 86 when I was stationed at Eglin AFB. That bike got me into some serious trouble. I'm talking roadblock type shit. Street racing and a lot of stitches. All self-inflicted. Back in the day all the Japanese bikes use to screw the brand name onto the tank. When you dumped the bike you would unscrew the name and flip it upside-down to show you been down. When they switched to labels us Suzuki and and kawi guys would put the "S" or "K" backwards.

Out of the box, the ZX-14R is faster and smoother, but if you want a bike to compete at the drag strip, the Busa offers more potential and is a lot more service friendly. Don’t believe me? Check out what Chris Moore has to say about it. The ability to go big on a Busa motor, the ability to service the cylinder cases on the spot without having to tear the whole motor apart, the ability for the Busa motor to hold more power, ability to go bigger on a Busa motor , and better aftermarket support give the Busa a big edge for competition use. Incidentally, I have each bike, so I have no real interest in bashing the Kawi since it’s faster and smoother from the factory.

At 2:47 in this clip, you will see the rider on the ZX-14 sitting almost upright on the starting line just before launching. Smart racers NEVER do this! If you wheelie while sitting upright, your body will be thrown backwards and your right hand will lock the throttle wide open which will result in a flip over. Seen it done! I raced a street legal 2003 GSX-R1000 for 18 years running a best of 8.50 @ 165 mph with no wheelie bar, no NOS, and no turbo, as a 69 year old rider, so I know this business and how to ride.

He’s fine. He tucks as soon as he launches. It’s not wrong when you’re extended. In fact he rocks the weight to the rear wheel. On a non-extended bike, I get it. But let’s get one thing straight. You can’t build a ZX-14 like a Busa. So he went into this handicapped as is. He raced damn well.
