Kawasaki Teryx 800 U-joint replacement.

U-joint replacement in rear drive shaft of 2019 Kawasaki Teryx 800LE 4.

I don't think I ever saw a grease zerk anywhere on my 17T4LE and I'm at 3500mi on original factory u-joints and spline/yokes. I do know that SATV arms don't have protectors for outer boots so I understand exactly where you're going with boot issue. Had to cut some ABS into covers and zip-tie on mine. Thanks for sharing part numbers on after market.

I'm not sure without watching again but that u-joint part# is precision 450.

Any idea if the same precision 450 u-joint works in the front driveshaft? The parts catalog says slighly different parts numbers. Just curious if you have done the front u joints?

@BrandonSowers-l2h the front u-joint looks to be just a little smaller than the rear. I haven't had to change the front yet thank goodness.

Well shoot, nothing I can find online says anything about a cross reference from the parts store about the front u joints. I just did my rear today thanks to you for the oreilly part number

How did you put the boot on after back together dose the boot have a split up the side

It slides back and forth on the drive shaft. There are notches on the shaft that the ends of the boot sit into.

Ok thanks I didn't see it on the shaft while you were putting it back together I have a 2015 rear joint is shot I was going to start pulling the rear end out thanks for the video I could not find any information on it nowhere

Good video man I feel your pain with the way shit goes sometimes. I just did a video on my 2008 teryx replacing the main starter gear and one way bearing and water pump seals. Best tool I purchased was a service manual, well worth the money. I also hate working on dirty shit but being. On a small farm sometimes it can’t be helped. 👍👍👍

Wow, this is so useful. I'm not a mechanic, but I was able to completely re-wire my Teryx4 (except for the ignition wiring). I think I'll give this a try, and if I screw it up, on the trailer it goes lol. Thank you for giving the part number! I don't feel like looking at reviews and crossing my fingers it's the right part. Yuck. Thumbs up!

I never did take the driveline apart I just took the u-joint out that sits in between the 2 yolks while it was still on the machine you shouldn't have to take that all that apart unless you're changing the main yoke seal on the rear end I can do that front to back without taking it apart

Well I took it out so I could work on it without being on my back. Plus, why wouldn't you take it out?

It's so flippin easy to take out once I figured it all out that it just made sense to remove it. I'd rather stand up to work rather than crouch or lay.

Question for you, what made you decide to change this out? I have a 2017 T4 and about 30 mph I start to notice a vibration that feels like it is in the drive line. I had to replace a rear u joint on my truck for similar feeling at a specific speed. Once I put in a new u joint the truck runs smooth. So it leads me to believe the same thing is wrong with my T4.

I had a bad vibration along with a bad clunking noise when placing it in gear. When looking at it I thought it was fine. Once I jacked it up I could see the play in it.

Ujoint alignment. Did you notice if both ujoints were aligned with each other or if they were off set?
