Sound advice regarding trackdays John....remember when trackdays were like that back in the 90s, eh?!! ....folk rode there and back and without a tyre warmer in sight lol

FortNine gives the Pirelli Angel GTII tires a high rating in his video- he says they should wear evenly, better than some other brands. I switched from Michelin Pilot Road 3s to these Pirellis- they are good so far, for my street riding at legal speeds.

I had the original Angel GTs on my own MT-10 as well; they're excellent. If sport touring tyres are good enough for the track instructors at California Superbike School and Ron Haslam Race School, they're more than good enough for me! John

These tires appear to have been removed from the Pirelli line up in summer 2023. WTF?

Gt2's have a more sporty feel than the original Gt's found they turn in better only had them a short while so not sure about mileage yet but i definitely prefer the Gt2's

Any comment on the mileage since it’s been 10 months? My q3+’s lasted 4000 and just bought the gt2s waiting for them to come in.

i have done 5 sets of gt2 never got over 4000km and there where at least 500km of highway on every set when not more. but others do 8000 with them. i think u cant easy destroy them on a good day on track.. in traffic and public roads im sure i could get them down in 2000km but 4000 is realisticly when u like to break hard and do fast acelaration

Great movie. Have you experienced the Versys 1000 straightening up a lot when braking in a corner (more than other bikes)? I heard that when you increase the front brakes in the corner (for example when You arrive hot in the corner) Versys 1000 REALLY wants to stand up. Is it true ? Was it annoying? Does it prevent trial breaking in corners ? I consider Versys 1000 and it worries me

Been riding nearly 40 years and still not done a track day 🙁 Do fancy having a go but the thought of binning the bike or getting took out by someone else's accident had always put me off.

@1066Rider Yep I guess that would work depending on cost 👍👍

Just ride at what ever pace you are happy with no one will treat you badly even if your the slowest one there in fact you will get a ton of support, track days are great fun, go do your own thing at your own pace and you will be surprised how much fun you will have and most likely make a few friends along the way

what about shimming at high speed? My SE is very unstable upto 200 kmh (alone with topcase on)
@bennettsbikesocial4 жыл бұрын
No real problem, though the bars can be quite sensitive at high speeds, especially with luggage. Cheers, John

I'm not sure if it's your cameras or something done in post editing but your on-board stuff is very grainy looking, it just doesn't look right, can't put my finger on it but it just looks lower quality especially when you transition from talking into the camera then a on-board moving section. Just wondering why it's like this

You'd have to ride quite hard to get some heat in them aswell, so does it matter that much?.. My tire guy said no
