Loved my 92' Zephy, I trekked loooong hauls (10 hr stretches) on highways and byways in comfort. At 6'3" this was a comfortable bike for me even on those long treks. She most certainly was my daily driver in any condition, and with a set of Metzelers on her, she stuck well on the wet roads. She's a little heavy but to me that was a plus because it would lend well to longer treks where lighter buzzier bikes would most certainly tire u out more. What I loved about this bike, they are rare here in NA, so at any bike gathering she was always a curiosity to many. Thanks for the upload, brought back many great memories.

I have a '92, same color. Like the reviewer says, the fork is a bit soft but it's an awesome bike overall. It sounds wicked with its air cooled engine and a V&H 4 into 1. I have yet to encounter another one in Toronto or any place I've ridden it so I agree it's rarity is a treat.

i own a 1977 kz1000 and it rides great. bridgestone spitfire tires help alot with handling. Mine has the 1075 big bore and kerker comp. exhaust and she moves more then i need and yes i have been on bikes like the 06 yamaha r1 and zxr12r. i still like the old style

Finally...a decent objective review of the Zephyr 1100 !! (aka the ZR 1100 in North America). I have the exact bike - a stock 1995 A4 - even the same colour. What the rider concluded with is very true, the Zephyr can appeal to both the hooligan rider and the Grampa rider. I happen to fall mostly in the latter category...and to be honest, with just a little of the former aswell! It's a blast to ride and quite frankly performs better when it's given a firm but controlled throttle. Awesome.

In 1976, did 120 mph south of Tijuana on my KZ900, smooth as glass with no strain at all.

Loved my 76 KZ900, should never have sold it. Still wish I owned it to this day. You didn’t want to ride that fast with a windjammer on the bike. You would get front end lift at around 110 mph.

Proud owner of a 75’ Z1b. I’ve taken mine to 145 mph indicated. I’m at the point in my life where I’m ready to restore mine to original condition. I’ll never sell my Z1 ....... well maybe when I’m 85 😎
