macaulee davies That's always a tough one for me. I suggest that everyone I know go out and ride a dirtbike for a while before they try the street. You will learn how to control the machine, as well as fall down - who knows... bikes might not be your thing? After, if street bikes are inevitable, the first bike should not have fairings, as there is a 100% chance that it will not stay vertical in the first year... and fairings are expensive. I suggest something with enough power to get out of the way (bigger than a 250), but not enough to be crazy (smaller than a 1000 - unless it's a Harley or cruiser etc.). From there, it's really personal preference. You need to be comfortable - feet on the ground, not worrying about controlling the machine - you need to concentrate on the cars around you. Hope this helps.
@runninamok26358 жыл бұрын
if the z125 has an oil filter or spinner would contribute to a slower rev vs quicker rev. so what happens if you use a filtered system on the grom, could the rev limit be increased, and how much quicker would the engine rev up? Oh and are you making the Brocks for the 2017 grom? i want one but not sure of the firment.
@BrockDavidson8 жыл бұрын

20lb at this power level is a *huge* difference. Could be 10-20% difference in apparent HP.
@Thesaviorsway5 жыл бұрын
The z125 stock is 124.63cc, the grom is 124.86cc. Thus the z125 gets an extra 1.5mpg from factory while the grom has extra torque and hp from slightly higher displacement as well as having a longer stroke. The z125 being over square revs higher having a greater top end power but shorter gearing for a lower grunt under acceleration. With modifications the z125 would be the better contender as the stroker crank still makes the over square have higher top end power and the engine would breather better with a 4 valve unlike the grom that's just all about big bore with a weak crank and low rpm.

Why does the Z125 always fire a flame? Oh I love that! However, doesn't seem the Grom does. :(
@BrockDavidson8 жыл бұрын
@Novex Gaming - Great Question! The Grom's ECU still maintains active O2 sensor monitoring and adjustment to match emissions specifications, so it is very lean a low throttle openings, but we can map wide open throttle for performance. The Z125 Pro does not have this issue, which allows us to map the entire RPM range. During deceleration, some unburned fuel can enter the pipe and get ignited - causing a harmless pop.

Our Grom seat came from Steady Garage: www.steadygarage.com/store/two-wheels/mc-parts/honda-grom-msx-125/seats/gs3-type-custom-honda-grom-seat-carbon-black-stitching

since you stretched the grom you need to lower it or bag it

You do have an advantage over the grom. The z125 is lighter and has bigger gas tank. The benelli is better than both

you cant believe but here in Asia a Honda 70cc can hit 64mph and produces 6 bhp and can rev upto 7000rpm and its engine can last for 100k miles without a rebuilt and all of this for just 600 dollars...now that's cool...😎😎😂
