i follow your instructions and did it with no effort, the only thing is that i was with full tank on gas, lesson for next time ill do it on almost empty

I did not take off the Tank since my gas was full, I Just lift it with a hardwood and get access on the filter then return it back to order

@@notamotorbikemechanic I bought myself a z800 2014 today that needs new oil and filters and sparkplugs. But the store wants 600 dollar for it..

😱😱😱😱😱😱 $600???? Is that US dollars? The parts should only be about £60-£70 (about $90) Your paying labour to get the tank off, you can see by this video how easy it is. Then there's not much more to get to the spark plugs out, we chose not to because the mileage was so low. Give it a go yourself, take your time... And save a fortune.

@@notamotorbikemechanic yes. I live in Sweden. I called many motorcycle shops and every shop said between 500-700 dollar (6000 Swedish kronor) that is a lot of money. I will try my self. I can at least change oil it looks very easy

Yeah oil and filter is simple, try and run petrol tank low/empty make it easier to get off. Not taken spark plugs off this model, but it's normally straight forward after tank is off.

Any chance of doing a main fuse change video, I incorrectly wired my battery and now bike won't start. Apparently it's not the fuses located under the seat, but where..?. This a new bike for me, so I'm slowly getting around to understanding how it all works etc. Great video's too, nicely paced, thanks.

Hi this isn't my bike so don't always have access to it, but if you look at the video @ 4:00 on the very right of the screen, just under the tank (between the frame) I think this is what your looking for (probably got a 30amp fuse) Failing that, on some forums, someone said its behind the battery (but not sure which year of bike they were talking about)

@@notamotorbikemechanic Funny enough, today a little frustrated I spoke to a mobile mechanic, he expanded on the issue a little more and so i found the unit on the left side (I thought the right side) anyway it's all sorted and running fine, thanks for getting back to me and keep the vids coming cheers Pat

Take it slow, watch were all the bits go, should easily do it in an hour.

The owner manual tells stock sir filter can be used for a pretty long time.. Around 22000 miles. And your filter looked clean. Any particular reason for changing so soon instead of just cleaning. I noticed you have a ackra slip on which does not require filter change and no tuning at all.

sandyroadking, Hi thanks for your question. The air filter change is part of the two year service interval. I agree it was very clean, but for about £8 you might as well change it. I'm not sure what the exhaust has to do with changing the filter?

@@notamotorbikemechanic hi mate Usually when a slip on is put, a free flow filter is also put for the engine to breathe properly. That would be specified by the exhaust manufacturer if a free flow filter is required. For z800 akra slip on, akra mentions that it's tuned to be run with stock filter I too have a z800 16 model and was glad some1 took time to do proper maintenance. Cheers mate. 👍

sandyroadking , not sure about the filter/exhaust thing, as it's not my bike. I believe the exhaust was standard with this special edition (Sugomi)

I dont understand how the gas stays in the tank ? Does it ? Or u have to do it empty ?

The tank has pump inside, if the pump isn't running no fuel comes out.👍
