he's in sport mode! Bike has traction control!!!!! Without traction control the bike would have looped if he kept the throttle pinned like that. can't you hear when he let the clutch out how the bike adjusts the throttle on its own? while he kept throttle in same position. I have the z900 and I can do the same and it is my first bike. bike has electronic/software support otherwise you'll be fighting a wheelie.

As an ex Australian Superbike Racer (10+ years, home track Phillip Island Raceway) and around 46 years in total riding experience and an advanced racing instructor I can tell you his launch (as I’ve been watching his channel since it started) had nothing to do with what you mentioned. Sorry, as you simply lack the knowledge at this stage to truly understand and appreciate a solid launch. Not the right choice for a first bike either that you have, so that tells me you live in America as in Australia and Europe you simply can’t legally ride one of those as your first bike due to safety regulations that are backed up buy decades of research. Im Sportmodus (meines Wissens nach ist da TC aus) hätte ich da erwartet das das Vorderrad hochgeht bei dem Speed, wieso ist das nicht so? oder hattest du TC trotz Sportmodus eingestellt? Danke! But this time was measured by draggy who shows a much more accurate speeds and measurements than the speedometer, i see your 100 to 200kmh video and you measured the time in the speedometer who isn't very accurate... BTW times in the 7's for 125hp is very good in my opinion! Cheers!

Emissions and that KTRC could've slowed it down a bit even tho it's kept of Sport mode that's Full power and KTRC 1 it activates if it detects even a slight wheelspin or wheelie which then cuts power to the rear wheel

Interesting. How is the Z900 slower than your test of the Z900RS? There's a 15HP difference and I think the RS is a little heavier as well. I currently drive a 2020 RS and I absolutely love it.

So she does 144 mph actual speed. Swap out that exhaust system, flash the ECU, pop in a Sprint filter, and you'll blast over 150 mph if the gearing lets you.

MotoTop, can you put the MPH again for us Americans? LOL I do know that 10 kph = 6.2 mph, 100 kph is 62 mph, but since I'm so used to visually seeing mph, the brain has a hard time comprehending the actual speed in kph as it's accelerating. It's probably vice versa for someone who grew up using the metric system and trying to take in mph as it's flying at a high rate of speed.

I think the somewhat soft launch lost about .5 second off of what it's maximum capability is in the 0-100 (should be around 3.0 at best). There's no way to keep the front wheel down in 1st gear while in sportmode if you're anywhere near aggressive with the throttle/launch.

@@mototop_ not saying I can do better haha. I researched and saw a few websites post a 3.3 0-100kmh time. Living in the US, I automatically transpose it into our 0-60 (where nearer to 3.0 would be valid) without thinking about it being slightly more than our 0-60. On second thought, I'm impressed you hit that close to the 3.3 without pulling the wheel at all 😆. Another thing is that I'm sure the 15ish kg stock exhaust is probably a big hindrance when you compare it to someone's quarter mile time that has light aftermarket exhaust and a good tune. I have a 2021 Z900, it'll most likely be getting traded in for a S1000R if they ever do an update and give it the shiftcam engine from the RR. Then again, that new Sportster S looks pretty cool even though I'm not the Harley type.

@@mototop_ not sure why it deleted my response. Those numbers were from a Google search and site that posts bike stats. I've seen a few pulls that were close to that mark by the speedo, but not by GPS. But I have seen a few quarter mile time videos that would seem to make it feasible. A Columbian YT channel called Full Gas has quiet a few interesting bike drag racing videos, a number of which involve some Z900s doing surprisingly better than it has a right to against a MT10, S1000RR, and super duke 1290. I don't think I can do it on my own Z900 now (stock other than decatted full exhaust and what's basically a HP Corse hydroform straight pipe. I probably could have been closer before, but I've grown too used to the bike and tend to accelerate too aggressively and stand it up about halfway through first gear around when I let the clutch catch all the way..I've for some reason fallen into the habit of revving the piss out of it to launch it like it's a torque deficient R6 or something 😂.

GPS is the most accurate measurement device you can have onboard. Of course it depends on the type of GPS and the device, the technic etc. But it's way more accurate than speedo. What measurement device would you say is better than GPS?

@@Ark86125 yep, the GPS of a smartphone is pretty inaccurate :D and it only has 1Hz. Gropro is told to have 18Hz frequenzy. You need at least 10Hz to measure acceleration in a good way.

@@mototop_ Thanks! Yes, for me sound is a factor. It's why I bought a VFR 900 and later an Aprilia Tuono 1000R v-twin. The former had aftermarket pipes, the latter the previous owner had punched or removed baffles from the stock cans.

Stock gearing is more about the torque, you have to change it if you want it to hit the speeds of full fairing bikes. But honestly i love the way its set up. There is no need go any faster than 150. Especially without a windshield. I live in the mountains though so i cant do much more than 120 anywhere anyway.
