My 96 Kawasaki gt750 has a bit of back fire too, apparently all old quackers run rich lol. Must admit looks a hoot to ride with those straight bars, nicely done divvy Dave 👍👌

It’s pretty much set as I received it so I can’t take credit but it is great fun. I only issue that I have is that it feels a bit small for my six foot three gangly body. Back tyre is a bit skittish too but I will change it out.

Looks just like my 86 except I have stock bars and the pipes I'm currently running are a spare set of mat black ones with the baffles removed, and I have K/N pods and a deleted airbox. Same "problem" here with the rear tire not sticking, but that's only from a stop, it grips fine on corners in fact I can easily scrape the sides of my mufflers on the ground when I corner and you can damn sure hit the front pegs. You wouldn't believe the amount of extra power and quickness you get from opening up the mufflers and adding free flowing air filter but I don't think you can do that over there with the govt restrictions, it's still a very fast bike even stock, at least for me. I can't seem to ride in a straight line down the road because it's so much fun to weave back and forth I mean that thing handles like a dream I find myself looking for potholes to swerve around and wait until the last millisecond to do it 😊 by the way as a nurse I can tell you if you wait a really long time that 6'3 will diminish so you'll literally shrink into the bike. I mean 95 will get here before we all know it lol

It looks like it pulls strong, a bit of backfire on de acceleration is normal for a bike running a touch lean, for example if you get a bike and put a loud exhaust on it will pop and backfire a touch, I think the exhaust will have a few holes, gaps and may have gaps where it meets the engine if the gaskets have had it. Seating these would help it to run like stock. The jetting I put in was stock jetting. I can't wait to see the tank painted

motorcycle rescuer I think I will take the radiator off when I drop the coolant. I can get to the pipes then and do a full route to the exhausts. Let’s see if it cures the backfire.

@@NatsNackersYard try putting paper near the joints, of it flaps then it's loosing air. Basically these bikes need some back pressure to run great and if it has any leaks will run lean. I ran into my first issue on the 125 today. The throttle body/butterfly valve is seized solid. I've freed it up enough to open but dosnt close on its own. I'm hoping the wd40 will work its way through tonight and save me loads of hassle. They are hens teeth to get the carbs

Loved the eliminator. Great bike that pulled hard and surprisingly comfortable. Slightly regret selling it on but had great fun fixing it up.

Heard they don't like standard set up for carbs fiddled with hope I can get it going OK!

@@patrickdoake6022 carbs were tricky. If I can give any advice it is to make sure that your float heights are bang on.

Hi nat, can I ask you if it's easy to find parts for this moto? I'm about to buy one but i'm worried for maintenance parts....

Dan Esse the basics are easy enough (brake pads, carb bits and pieces. I had trouble getting an airbox but got one in the end.
