i never realised the ZX7, 1996, made that much power. The Suzi 1000 K5 made 150bhp for 2005, which sort of puts it in perspective. Great bike

@@EvanJohn-z2d exactly , that zx7R is a very special machine , all those changes made to the engine, exhaust etc etc has paid dividends

Well now sir, I am baffled with these results. Not sure if you and I can boast or brag on this. On the same dynotune testing machine located here in Northern California my ‘16 RF in stock form, but for an aftermarket slip on (wanted before and after install of race ecu), laid down 196.5 to 197.5 . Shop owner said that is the strongest production bike he’s measured. Hope that Aprilia factoid brings smiles to your day.
@ChasingTenths2 күн бұрын
@@greenjackal4362 that is absolutely brilliant, and I agree with the shop owner.. the 2016 RSV4 RF engine is one of the strongest engine engines they built, and I’ll be honest with you that is a lot of power. That is a hell of a lot of power, I know the 2015 to 2016 Aprilia RSV4 RF really really well, and my bike only produces 178 bhp , you are a lucky man and that is some amazing power figures.

If the Zx7 has the crankshaft from the J model it is 792cc, for reference.
@ChasingTenths26 күн бұрын
@@io3204 ahhh , that’s very interesting, thank you for the info. I honestly wasn’t aware
@io320426 күн бұрын
@@ChasingTenths thx for the video. It is a rather popular modification for the zxr750 and Zx7r measured by the requirements. You can bore a Zxr to accept the zx7r pistons and you can put a zxr crankshaft into a zx7r as in the video. Both results in 792cc. The nearly 70ft/lbs (94nm) in the video are amazing. If you can somewhat hold that torque and make the engine withstand Wsbk rpms that bike would be going against 175hp. Greetings
@ChasingTenths26 күн бұрын
@@io3204 wow, honestly, I never knew this, everyday is a school day . This is the kind of information I would love to know more about I will do some research I know a lot about upgrades in general but not the internals of engine upgrade
@io320426 күн бұрын
@@ChasingTenths Great. Btw, the last version of the Zxr750 chassis before they made the Zx7r would accept the first Zx9r engine with practically no or very minor modifications. It was basically the same engine with just bigger cylinders and more stroke to get to 900cc. So that was the most popular modification to the 750 as it was just a plug in engine swap to get to 143hp while keeping the sbk chassis and practically no weight gain. It is less revvy though. Great bikes and great video.

I miss my old 2009 ZX10R. Damn that thing was quick. But as a street rider, it really wasn't a smart bike to own. No ABS or TCS, and a rev counter giving you the green when you're breaking the speed limit🤣 (The tachometer had a colored line around the rpm indicator). 💚💚👏🏼👏🏼
@ChasingTenths27 күн бұрын
I know exactly the bike / model you are on about Roy, i saw a guy racing that with NoLimits . to be honest that speedo and tacho is so unique to the kawasaki, even though they had no electronics but they were absolutley solid machines and so easy to tune and re map compared to BMW or Aprilia.
@Roy_Godiksen27 күн бұрын
@@ChasingTenths And back in 2009 when it came out, it was the fastest "liter bike" on the market. It was supposed to have a engine traction control system. Personally, i'm nowhere near fast enough to reach the limit of that thing without dying. But even reviews from MCN in the rain said they never felt it do anything. So, i don't think it was anything but a marketing thing back before TCS became a real deal.
@ChasingTenths27 күн бұрын
@@Roy_Godiksen thats a very very good point Roy, but i will be honest, every bloody time i have seen a review of multiple bikes, they put the kawasakies at the bottom and in the real world especially on track , they are the most popular race bikes to be on. Engine refreshes are cheaper, tuning is easy , parts arent that expensive and are easily available. plus dealer network is very decent. I love Kawasaki as a brand, i would love to buy the GPZ900R , the top gun bike one day
@Roy_Godiksen27 күн бұрын
@ChasingTenths I own a 1985 Kawasaki GPZ600R (since 2019). Best seating position on a sportsbike I've ever sat on. I'm sat down, almost in the bike. Probably not the best for racing, which is why modern bikes no longer have that seating position (modern is more on top).
