Kawasaki ZX4RR false neutral problems? Here's the fix

While the ZX4RR is a fun bike, it is prone to false neutrals when using the autoblipper to shift down. In my case, it happens when I go from 3rd to 4th on the track, which is not a fun time to lose drive.

While you have your clutch open, I also strongly suggest you upgrade the clutch springs and friction plates:

Torque values used:
* Clutch cover bolts: 89 inch pounds
* Clutch spring bolts: 89 inch pounds
* Detent arm bolt: 87 inch pounds
* Star wheel bolt: 106 inch pounds
* Clutch Basket Bolt: 97 foot pounds

I looked on their website, but it states that it’s just for the 400 R. Is it good for the RR as well?

Sir, i have issue in my zx4rr i hope you can help,, when you apply the clutch and your not yet running in any gear the rpm gets higher from 1500 to 2200 ,, the dealer cant fixed it.

I have had no such issue on mine. It does idle higher in gear with the clutch in than neutral, but this is normal as its meant to help prevent stall. I've had my ECU tuned and that has changed all the fuel maps The zx4rr is a very new bike, all units will still have full warranty. try a different dealer or contact Kawasaki directly. Unfortunately I can't diagnose or fix something i can't physically touch.
