You are the first one to call BS. We never BS power figures and our bikes win races and get featured on magazines so we have to be 100% accurate.

Andy the owner of the bike is keeping it. He has just done a trip through Germany and ridden the Nurburgring. That bike has been well looked after but is ridden very hard. I can vouch for the 160MPH+ chases on the Autobahns with him running the bike almost against the limiter for miles. It is one seriously quick ZX6R. I lapped 40 Seconds quicker than my R1 round the Ring on his ZX6R!

I just got this bike in silver. It's a change from the Suzuki 2004 GSX-R I previously owned. It's a fun bike and its impressed me alot more then I though it would. I'm sure peeps do the no clutch up but its not something I would recommend.. if your asking how to do it you probably should be trying. Lucky
@YAMR1M17 жыл бұрын
The bike was given a full warm up and shakedown on the Dyno. The Dyno guy did give it more use on the dyno than he may normally do but it is still the most powerful Stock motor 636cc ZX6R we have seen and that is fact. The footage is what it is so no appologies. An over enthusiastic dyno operator is one thing but power is power and this bike is seriously quick.
@gwhitaker200615 жыл бұрын
the gp bikes can go up and down gears without pulling in the clutch because they have quickshifters which are linked to the gear shifter, this engages the clutch as the gear shifter is lifted up...the clutch is still needed for smooth gear changes and to prevent excessive wear on the gearbox

i must say, that was the most impressive sounding 6 I ever heard. I'm more into the 750 style bikes but theres only one brand in that class. Anyways, I was looking at getting a 6r. This video may have helped some with my decision eventhough this is a 636. If you have any vids for the 07 model, that would be cool to see.
@YAMR1M17 жыл бұрын
I don't use the clutch in either direction and my little R1 has 29000 miles on the clock. It still shifts as sweetly as the day I bought the bike. Infact there are a few companies who do electronic gear shift controllers which will work both ways as well. It is more critical on down shifts but if you can do it correctly then there is no problem.

I have heard people saying this is one of the best bikes ever
@YAMR1M16 жыл бұрын
That is so true. Why are we obsessed with dyno sheets if most of them are wrong? It is because most of them are not wrong!
@YAMR1M16 жыл бұрын
In the UK it costs between £20 and £35. It depends on if they do all the measurements like mixture and RPM so you get a full check of how it is running or if you just want to know BHP as they don't have to spend time hooking up RPM Pickups and the dyno Lambda sensor.
@YAMR1M16 жыл бұрын
I hate to say it but the bike really does have that much power. The GSXR600 I built has a genuine 120BHP and weighs a real 153Kg ready to ride. The Kawi 636 was really quick on stock gearing and has been tested again and was 124.8 BHP.

The guy is a very experienced dyno tester and works with some of the top BSB teams. Richie I am sorry I have not dealt with TiForce for a while so I am not sure of what they still have for this bike. The full factory spec Leo Vince will be good and so will the works spec Arrow exhaust.. But it needs to be a full race one not just one from the catalogue. Arata may do one too which is the one I would look at if it were my bike....

It is a 636. We have had a 2007 ZX10R but do not have any video of it one the dyno. We expect to see between 173 and 185BHP from a ZX10R on the dyno depending on spec. The best I have seen is 224BHP at the wheel of a BSB Superbike built by Ray Stringer.

@Mistreatedxxx My buddy has that exact same bike. Things to look for.... the fairing stays strip REALLY easy. Make sure all of them look in good condition. If not, its hard to get to some of the components. (the positive battery terminal is half way under the gas tank, which must be removed to get to it.) Watch for hairline cracks forming along the front fairing too.

The wire jump is not needed in Europe as we get the full power bike anyway. Some UK magazines like Fast Bikes do post 1 mile times and speeds. I am not sure how this would be against current 600's but it will be quicker over the mile. Most new 600's are less than 110BHP at the wheel anyway and this is a lot more powerful than stock.

@YAMR1M also the fact that the rated horsepower is rated at the crank..which would be roughly 125..it's not that they lie..it's the fact that they do not produce wheel horsepower figures..it also depends on the dyno used

I am not biased between bikes and generally have no favourites. The Kawasaki IS better than most people give it credit for and with the best part of 125BHP pushing forward it would take a well tuned 600cc Bike to beat it in a straight line.

Amandelx ??WHO?? Me,dyno operator or one of the guys who took time to reply? The bike puts out the power posted and of all the bikes I have seen which have been tested on this dyno they all fall in 1% of the numbers from Dynojet UK as we had a Suzuki GSXR600 K6 with 116BHP which seems high so we took it to Dynojet HQ in the UK and it was 115BHP. The guy there has also run numerous bikes from Rhencullen and they ALL fall very close to the baseline set by Dynojet.
@YAMR1M17 жыл бұрын
I did not say it was cheap and I deal with BSB teams as well as some of the best tuners in the UK. We have a Triumph 675 with 134BHP and a TenKate Honda with 142BHP. The dyno's they use are all well sorted and do not show more than a couple of BHP difference on a bike we know puts out a relaible BHP figure on the UK Dynojet importers own dyno.
@YAMR1M17 жыл бұрын
The 636cc bike is brilliant. I prefer it to the 07 ZX6R bike and I have ridden both.... The GSXR 750 is not really my thing as I know I can lap quicker on the GSXR600 at most tracks and my R1 is better over longer distances. 600's are just about fun and revving the hell out of them.. The 750 is a good bike but I still prefer a 600 or close to 600 for fun and a litre bike for pure speed!
@YAMR1M17 жыл бұрын
The guy was running it like that both to set it up AND because it was being filmed. A bike being raced would sound like that and he ran the bike hard so you guys could see and hear what it would be like on the road.
@YAMR1M16 жыл бұрын
I have never seen 140BHP from a 636. I have never actually seen anyone go for a full supersport tune on one to be honest. But the motor will give good power if tuned.
@YAMR1M16 жыл бұрын
No I have not seen too many vids of the 07 bike but I have tested one with a Magazine. They are very good on the track and have a good top speed but they do suffer under acceleration. The CBR can beat it easily under acceleration and I raced a CBR against the ZX6 in a 1 mile drag race for a magazine and the Honda won every time. But on the track there is very little difference and is almost impossible to split them.

No....It really is at the wheel. See the GSXR 600 video I posted. The bike is over in Germany at the moment going for a lap record round a really big famous track and we plan to get that one to lap quicker then almost all of the 1000cc bike times. With head work and more compression we could have gone higher.

Every rev he did was part of the dyno run. It's not just a matter of revving it once and calling it a day. He's watching the screen in front of him for cues from the program telling him when to rev. Yes, you have to rev the crap out of the bike before the run to "blow out the cobwebs", and get it up to operating temp. A cold bike will make crappy power. Ever run a super sport bike on the track? Constant redline, no big deal. They're built to run that at redline all day and not complain.

I think it is just habit.... I am not the guy in the video but I never use the clutch either up or down the box on the road. I have done that for 20 odd years and never had a problem......It harks back to my racing days.
@YAMR1M15 жыл бұрын
Not if it is done right. Racers have shifted clutchless for years and even before quickshifters they did it this way. If you are good then you can change up and down the box without the clutch. But this is not reccomended. So up shifts are OK and not hard to do but down shifts are best left unless you practice on a bike you are not worried about wrecking the gearbox.
@TheNaturalWayFullCircle16 жыл бұрын
that's not the purpose of a slipper clutch. the slipper is made to prevent rear wheel slide when downshifting to get into a turn. the clutch slips a little so the wheel doesnt.
