Kawasaki ZX6R J2 Replace Fuel Filter

It may be debatable whether or not the fuel filter needs changing after just under 17,000 miles but it is 20 years old now and as I regularly end up switching to reserve this could drag any sediment out of the bottom of the tank.
I also cut open the old filter just to take a look inside and you can really see the difference between old and new.

@@bikenut Not sure why you would need anything faster etc than these mate. You would barely notice the difference anyway theres that little in it. Unless you want a different looking bike. I love the older bikes myself. 20 years ago the Ninja 600 was a dream bike for me when I had my Cagiva Mito 125. And now 20 years later I just bought one for £1700 absolute bargain mate. And making a dream a reality. Let rip in 2nd gear and it takes off like a rocket. 0-60 is like 3.3 seconds Just need to get myself a licence now 😁😁

Did you have problems starting or running the bike before changing the filter?? I'm having some fuel issues wiht my 05 rn.... :(

It’s hard to say really if changing the filter made much of a noticeable difference. What did make a difference though was using Mechanic In A Bottle - I did a video on that.

Hey the top hose connected to the gas tank is a breather tube? We’re does it plug in at the bottom? I’m rebuilding my bike & I was scratching my head on that part

Hi Nick, it just routes down wherever it naturally drops and does not attach to anything at the bottom.

I agree - it loves to rev! Great to hear you’ve had the bike from new. I’ve had mine over 15 years and can’t see me getting rid.
