Did something similar on my R6 pulled front brake because some tool decided to emergency brake as people were waiting on the side of the road but weren't even going to cross. But about the same damage on right side. Managed to fill the scratches and repaint the upper fairing (installing the indicators is a pain to get through fairing and clip in) snapped a footpeg and sort of tripped over the bike and landed on my knees in full gear so only a bit of bruising mine was pretty slow though about 10mph as i'd already took the brunt of speed down but i think i hit some oil in the road and the front just pulled out from under me. First time i'd been down on a bike was pretty gutting to say the least and the driver in front just took off Glad you walked away hopefully the bike isn't too much of pita to fix
@bikenut
@bikenut Ай бұрын
Thank you - yes it sure is a bit gutting, worse is when you pick it up off the floor and reveal the damage. I’ve replaced a front indicator before after I knocked it off when it was parked in my garage. I found that by submerging the firm rubber in hot water for a short time that it made it temporarily flexible enough to mount into the fairing.

@bikenut
@bikenut 6 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment but I don’t think that is correct. With this carb, 1 and 2 are sync’d with the adjustment screw between them, the same then for 3 and 4. Once you have 1 sync’d with 2 and 3 sync’d with 4, you can then sync both pairs with the adjustment screw in the middle.

BEFORE removing the fuel tank, fire it up and let it warm up to make the temp funnel not so much of a PIA mate. The 4 minutes it takes to remove it and remove the air box cover it will still be warm. I use a 1 Gallon self made carb feed for these kinds of things, syncing and testing, and it is much safer that releasing explosive vopors all around your shop with a running bike....FYI.
