You picked up a bargain. The ZZR600 are terrific bikes. It would be well worth getting your seat reupholstered with gel inserts. Makes for much more comfortable time in the seat.

I would like to add that this motorcycle is stable even in rainy weather. It is a sport cruiser not a sportsbike, that is why it has the side clips on the seats for bungee cords.

I own this motorcycle but I have a 1996 version. I agree with everything you said about this bike even with the seat pushing you forward but you have to slide back once in a while. I bought it with 30k miles and put 30k more due to commuting. It is a reliable/cheap ride and it behaves nicely until you pass 10k rev then it is a beast. Mines is 25 years old no major issues just maintenance. Thnaks for review

@@hachewie I live in Sacramento, Ca USA. I have 63,000 miles on this bike (still strong, starts at first or second crank) and I got every cent worth. I owned this bike for 8 years now. No leaks or major repairs (just chain and tires replaced) seat has no tears. It is cheap on insurance and low maintenance. I think it is cheaper to keep cuz my brother in law bought a 2003 (he bought new in 2002) yamaha R6 and he rode it for only 14,000 miles sold for a big loss. Wish i could be of help with the seat but I will only replace mine when it starts to rip. Keep up the good work.

Great for commuting. Smooth enough acceleration. Narrow for lane filtering. Plenty of top end power for weekend tomfoolery. Miss this bike a lot.

Nice casual review matey. I've had my zzr for a few months now, a year older than yours, and agree with everything you said apart from your view on the seat. I'm the same height as you, perhaps I have a fatter arse and extra padding, but the seat is good for me. It's colder here in the UK so perhaps my nuts tuck up and aren't an issue either. I do love the sound it makes and find myself revving unnecessarily to share it with others!! Love it!!

I had the D2 1100, great bike. But I sure know these lil bad boys and their lil brothers (the 250 well) , they run well with no issues if you look afte them and the 600s go hard and hold their own to. Thanks for the trip down memory lane for the ZZR series. This beast will serve you well, great Kawasaki motors and engineering in both the 600 and the 1100

I had a 93 one with the teal and black paint, it looked great in that colour, rode back from Newcastle at night in the pouring and rain and kept dry I was amazed, I also blew off a Honda 600F4 at the lights at Manly Vale near KFC he got a slight jump on me but the ZZ hauled him in at around 100k, this was 20 years ago. Wish I had kept it as I think it was the best road bike I ever owned I got used to the seat, loved the engine and it was cheap to own and so practical. I never was caught speeding on it but I don't know how and I guess that was why I sold it, I need a slower bike as I can't help myself and anything with the power of one of these.

Thanks mate. I love it. It has more power than I know how to use. I want to upgrade the seat and suspension then the brakes. I don't think I ever want to see it go but I think I need a bigger bike eventually. It does rip at 10K revs. Very fast 600 bike.

@@hachewie Thanks I have a Ducati 600SS in my garage and my father's 1928 Indian but I haven't ridden for ten years, but have been looking at bikes online in the lockdown and keep coming back to ZZR600 other bikes I have thought about start to cost a bit too much and need insurance at around $800 a year and I have a teenage family too. With the Kwaka you can ride it with just 3rd party and they are so reliable my one had 50,000 on it and I put another ten on it without any problems whatsoever, just servicing, thanks mate I will look very seriously at getting one when the lockdown is over.

@@bbkingwasthegreatest711 Holy smokes. 1928 Indian. Awesome. When buying a ZZR, just like any 2nd hand bike, check the oil is clean, fork seals etc are all good. Make sure the thermo fan comes on.

Just bought a 1994 zzr 600 but the bike is a bit of a wreck. Like you I paid next to nothing for it, £600 but it runs rough. Rode it 250 miles in the pouring rain to get it home and it cut out twice. found the plugs as black as coal and there was no coolant in the tank. The revs are far to high and wondered what yours ticks over at. Just give it a service but need to adjust the carbs.

G’day mate. My bike idles at 1500 revs. I hope it’s an easy fix. With the cutting out in the rain, check out the rectifier/regulator (left side, under the fairing near the seat. Check there’s no burnt out wires. Happened to me in the wet too.

Picking up a very original clean/tidy 1994 E2 model in Black/Turquoise for a dirty cheap price of £600. Bike has been garaged for 2 years but the previous owner drained the tank/carbs when he laid it up and kept the battery charged so still runs/rides but may need a minor service prior to getting it MOT tested. Had a few of these ZZR's over the years and they are great bikes, well built and a cheap way of getting a smile on your face.

ZZR’s are tough bikes. They have very strong engines. My bike is now almost at 75000 km. It pulls like a train. I’d love to try the 1100

The gearbox is fine man. I've heard if you drop the clutch in 2nd to pop the front up, then 2nd gear has issues. I don't often try to get the front up. Only reall issue I've has is with the regulator/stator thingo. Caused a bit of grief. Not a big deal though. The local Kawasaki Dealer told me a few weeks ago that they are great bikes with bullet proof engines. I love it. Goes great for an old 600.

Awesome man. It’s a fun bike and sounds fantastic. Only thing I’ve done is put in a K&N high flow air filter. It goes well enough. If I was interested in doing wheelies I’d change the gearing slightly. I’m interested to see what the fender eliminator looks like.
