glad you guys are enjoying my home island of cebu for 15 years...i left cebu 2 weeks after Typhoon odette hit cebu city, it was super strong, destroyed so much houses...the typhoon was strong but the devastation and challenges of living the aftermath, no power no water... its was crazy... Cebu has slowly recovered from it though... will be coming back to cebu in a few weeks...

@@csayson79 First off, thank you so much for watching our video and taking the time to comment Yannie ❤️. We appreciate that so so much!! As for leaving your city of Cebu...I am so so sorry that you went through this. We can't even imagine the absolute devastation the people of the Philippines endured because of the Typhoon. But we see nothing but absolute resilience from the Filipino people since we've been here and the truth is it's inspiring!! And they do it with a smile on their faces and that takes special people ❤️. We're glad you're coming back in a few weeks and hope it all goes better than you can imagine for you 🤗🤗. Sending you lots of love from Cebu right now and hope to see you around here more often!

Hello Madeline ❤️. Thank you so much! The truth is, we hear so much about NOT doing something every single time we want to do something that we've realized unless there are advisories against it that we're going to see for ourselves haha. I think alot of it comes down to perspectives AND a large majority from people who aren't even there/want to fear people haha. And the truth about the Philippines...this country is BEAUTIFUL and just as INCREDIBLE even after suffering a super typhoon!!! The Filipino people alone have made a visit to the Philippines worth it and the more we travel it just gets more and more beautiful. The beauty os this country is so much more than the pristine nature and that's what we truly enjoy and want to share with everyone! It's that cliche stance of imperfection is perfection haha. Also, sorry for the long comment. I (Will) talk alot I guess 🤣🤣. Again, thank you for watching and we're so excited to see you around here more and more 🤗❤️

But also his job just pushing people off cliffs… how do I get that job? 😁 Will, you and I are going to be the emotional messes together! The stories, the hardships and recoveries. We visited the Gulf Coast a couple of years ago. Everywhere you look is remnants of devastation from hurricane damage. But also everywhere you look is growth and rebuilding. I’m always touched and fascinated by peoples ability to pick up and move on in the face of disaster. I love everything about this video! I will forever be a firm believer there is just so much more good and unity in the world than bad and dividing and we see it every single day. And thank you for that! Hi Marie 🤗❤️. We are both very empathetic people and love to get to know people beyond the surface. I've said it before but it's the people who have led us on these adventures who have made them truly memorable!!! Beyond the natural beauty of where we are they've made it what it is and for that we're thankful! Plus, the Philippines were hit less than 4 months (at the time of the filming) before all of this and I think people forget this and take it for granted. Again, we all have a story, we've all been affected by something, and it's great to remember that and be an outlet sometimes 🤗. So thank you so much Marie!!! We truly appreciate it 😍

@@proudlynomadic the Philippines has lots of typhoons a year plus other natural disaster. Filipinos are aware of it but Mother Nature also knew how to compensate. Their resilience is so strong and that strong family unity helped a lot. Due to the natural catastrophe Filipinos are sharing what ever they have, helping each other that became part of the culture and smiling. All things will pass ☺️. Enjoy and along the way brings memories.

just getting a chance to finally watch your vlog and I really enjoy it! A big difference (and a massive plus) in this vlog is how you guys are able to empathize and share the local’s stories rather than just being a vessel for your enjoyment. One of my issues with vloggers in the past was the lack of understanding of culture and nuances that make our culture and our people different. Thank you for showing that side and actually showing a side that people don’t usually see.
@proudlynomadic
@proudlynomadic 2 жыл бұрын
Wow, thank you for this I J! The truth of the matter is the moment we came to the Philippines we were so excited to do this and everything else. And while that was (and still is) true what we quickly discovered is the Filipino people are a completely different breed of human (in the best way possible). They not only made us feel loved, understood (and it goes beyond language), but welcomed and like our time meant something. Like they were enjoying our time with them as much as we enjoyed theirs and no matter what we would always find something to connect on: and that's the human experience. And as silly as that may sound I think it shifted our focus from just enjoying the adventures for ourselves to even more curiosity of those who were with us (and beyond)! We wanted to know their stories, hear in their words, and whatever else they wanted to share and we ended up enjoying them just as much, and genuinely more, than the adventures we were on. We're very sensitive people (not in a negative way) and maybe even overly empathetic (mostly me, Will lol) so it was easy for us to want to know more and realize very early on that our greatest adventures were getting to know the people of the Philippines and their cultures and their, as you stated, nuances. THAT is what keeps us here, not the beautiful epic Mother Nature (though that helps 🤣) but the people! For us, their stories are just as important to share as ours are 🤗 Sorry for the long response haha. But thank you for this, it made the both of us light up! Sending you lots of love and big hugs 🤗❤️🤗

that's the most silver lining to look at things. however, just like in the Gulf Coast of the US. the devastation is egregiously dangerous and devastating because of the corporations'( in the PH oligarchy families)deforestation of the area for their own profit, in which those trees, plants would have done what they were made for i.e. to stop flash floods, break the speed and size of the typhoon, hurricane etc. mother earth knows exactly what she created in different areas of the world. it's the greedy psychopathic people that are destroying the planet which affects masses of poor people that they don't care about. People in the Phillipines need to start fighting your oligarchs if y'all don't want islands being submerged under water in a few years, which are already happening in the Pacific and globally. just my 2 cents.

You guys are totes vibin' over there - thriving and slaying for sure! Super excited for all the fun activities you have planned for the rest of your trip. Amazing way to cap the video. xx

And we just feel...different here in the Philippines. There's just something that makes us even more excited to go adventure and be out in the streets. It's most certainly an energy thing for sure. - And yes, covid, typhoon, I mean the resilience of the Filipino people have been inspiring and great to watch. Haha, that is absolutely something we would both do...and just might while we are here 😱. And yes, we've gained a few subscribers and that's great ❤️. Would we like to see the 5K+ like we've seen a few other KZbinrs get since being here in the Philippines?...absolutely BUT what we do truly appreciate are the bonds/relationships we build with those we do have (like you) so we walk away feeling successful and smiling still! How deep are the waters?
@proudlynomadic
@proudlynomadic 2 жыл бұрын
They were average 6+ meters to 10 meters +. Depending on which jump. Unfortunately the water was in fact shallow at the highest jump making it impossible for us to swim. The typhoon pushed lots of trees and debris in its path blocking the water from really flowing in 😭.

that was amazing, but im just i little bit concern when it starts to rain and you guys still didnt get out of the river. it could have flooded strong any moment and thats fatality

Fair enough to be worried. The great news is they assured us they are always on top of the weather so any once of trouble they do not move forward. They also have exits at every waterfall and one guide will climb to the top to always be on lookout below for the others should something come that way 🤗. Thank you so much for watching buddy!!!

Hello Geri 🤗. Yes, that's what Micho our guide was saying the entire time. We have never been to the Philippines so we had nothing to compare it too so to us it was absolutely gorgeous. We knew things were in places they shouldn't be (thanks to the flooding, etc) but we still appreciated the beauty of the space. We wish we could have seen it before the typhoon though 😱. We can only imagine! Thank you for watching and we hope to see you around here more ❤️❤️❤️

A bit reminder though Philippines has a lot of kind people.. but everywhere in the world there are those who takes advantage of tourist and the Philippines is no different from those countries. Just be causious and have fun..
