Great Video. I just completed the entire install this evening. It took me a lot longer than you, as I kept dropping the bolt that holds the adapter to the side of the speedometer housing. I just took my time and came back to the video several times and was able to get it. Thanks!

@@DemetreSimmons Thanks for the reply. I watched the video of you installing them and the shifter rod adjustment, but got carried away with the 12v power outlet install. I thought I read that you felt a little more vibration through them, but that might have been someone else. I see the Kuryakyn makes two sizes. You obviously have the larger ones. Decisions, decisions, decisions... I hope you are still on the mend and feeling better. I think getting run into from the rear is the worse thing to happen to a motorcyclist. There is nothing you can do. Maybe position yourself outside the crash area behind a car, but if the driver says "they didn't see you" well.... There's nothing you can do.

Good job. I would recommend you apply a little dielectric grease to the wires to make them easier to connect and it makes it a bit more waterproof.

Very nice video. I like the attention to detail. One think I question though, is your use of a 7/64 allen wrench instead of a 2.5mm metric version. A 2.5 mm allen is a perfect fit for two of the covers that need to be removed. I just received my relay and DC power plug about an hour ago and the installation is done. I used a magnetic tool to pick up the 10 mm bolt that I dropped into the instrument housing area.

What is the purpose of the relay? Is it really needed for the dc power outlet? I have seen other videos where they only install the dc power outlet without the relay.

Great video! I had an appointment to have these installed at the dealership but I'm going to cancel and do it myself. One question: by swapping this relay, can LED turn indicators be added without rapid-flash issues? I thought i read somewhere that there's a relay in front of the gas tank that needs to be swapped out for that.

glad the video can help a yes you will save some money doing it yourself. I am not sure about the LED turn signals. I have not changed out any factory lights on the bike yet so I don't have any knowledge on that. I do know in order to add the OEM led light bar that Kawasaki sells for our bike you have to have this relay in order for it to work. that is the most I knows when it comes to the lights. sorry I can't be if more help. thanks again for watching video

What is the purpose of the relay? I hooked up cell phone charger directly with the battery.

you need to use the relay when you install the DC outlet or the LED light bar that kawasaki sells for the bike in order for them to work.
