I really like Germaine Greer. I don't agree with everything she says, of course - but I'm willing to acknowledge that I don't agree with everything I've said either! I'm sure some of the things she has said are up for discussion haha. Anyway, very intelligent person, good sense of humour and a really mischievous sense of fun backed up with a steely sense of dignity. Reminds me of my mother.

I agree. What I like about Greer is even though she's a feminist she doesn't hate men she still respect them. Other women could learn a lot from just that alone
@lumyb9064
@lumyb9064 5 жыл бұрын
@@mikestepp9403 There are a lot of women that do though. A lot are aware of the work, efforts and sacrifices of the men around them and do not carry grudge or a vindictive attitude, because there are some black sheep in the male community, just like there are in the female one. However internet and media only keep the spotlight on absolute idiots, i mean cmon obese people talk about how obesity should be seen, mentally ill people talk about how they should be treated and perceived, free speech started getting people into jail and actual professionals and studies are being witch hunted and shut down. I think people are acting just like in medieval times, following the loudest, stupidest people in the room, feeling attacked by constant shocking news about how somebody somewhere is trying to hurt them and going through mass hysteria and denying and trying to shut down science and facts. With this being said, we as a species are not evolving, we are not stagnating, but we are sinking.

I had a total hysterectomy at age 50, and went from barely pre-menopause to full menopause in just a few hours. Was very fortunate as I never suffered from extreme symptoms. I understand it's quite difficult for some women. Actually menstruation - all my life - was much more traumatic for me than menopause.

She's a lifetime actor. She is probably an MI5 asset. Feminism is a pipe dream. It wqas invented by the CIA to destroy the family unit. It has helped to destroy society. It never liberated a single working class woman. Greer never had an idea of her own. She was told what to say, and when to say it. Just like Boris Johnson. Does anyone believe he knows anything about virology and pandemics? They are all FAKE.

@@matty7dream1 I’m not sure about her being an MI5 agent, but I’ve never understood why black women joined the feminist movement. The black woman hasn’t been under the black mans subjection for over 500 years. We didn’t need liberation from the kitchen. We worked alongside our men in the plantations, probably with a baby in our bellies, one on our breast, one on our backs and several working with us on the plantation KMT

She's poking a hornets nest and asking questions in a sensible, intelligent way. Is she asking why women aren't equal to men? No, she isn't. What she's advocating is simple respect to be shown by both men and women to each other in their respective roles in life. Remember, men are nothing without women. And women are nothing without men.

JP and Greer discussion would be most interesting tbh. Although I think Peterson is way too ignorant about feminism to have anything valuable to say about it. He seems to think women's studies and gender studies departments are complete propaganda and nonsense... So I have no idea what he would think of Germaine Greer. I am almost certain he's never heard of her. In his world the suffragettes did nothing to further women's liberation so a conversation between the two could be very dull and brief. XD

So much for menopause -- a plug for the book at the begining...a couple of minutes in we find out they can cure hot flushes -- then nothing more about post menopause and its tribulations until 1 minute to go when the host remembers what they're there for and asks her about the phenomena of the invisible older woman- which Greer answers by telling us the obvious ie. She's not invisible because she's famous....and then with 30 seconds to go Greer is asked to give her thoughts.

Germaine shows the difference between a critically thinking and a reactionary feminist.

Hmm favorite quote from Albright? My understanding is that she said that in reference to those women who wouldn't vote for Hillary Clinton. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o6SwmXqVe7qhjqc Women should be able to think for themselves and not be told how to think by other women. Thanks for making the distinction, Germaine, that we don't support women only because we are women.

Thankful for people like Germaine Greer and Jordan Peterson who acknowledge that issues are more complicated than a news anchor would like or admit.

Yeah I was just thinking, would be a nice conversation between the two. I think she could handle him well and both would understand each other's points of view.
