I’m a believer in solar lunar. As a kid, 6 to 8 years old I was a shrimp boat deckhand off the Texas coast for my dad and grandpa. Solar lunar, barometric pressure, wind and direction all of those factors were critical to success and constantly monitored and discussed. Watching the moon was as important as the sun.

Keep em coming I love this format! Not saying you do this but it's "easy" to edit in a lot of footage of catching fish and say your a better angler but another thing to explain and share why your a better angler if that makes sense.

I’m just getting into kayak fishing and I love to bass fish but not that good at it I’m always throwing a Texas rig or a ned rig I’ve never had luck on top water or power fishing as you call it the info was great thanks
@shred55 жыл бұрын
There's definitely good advice here. I definitely know that getting hung up on lures that work can kill your chances. For example, on a cooler summer evening after a long heat wave, a spinnerbait or crankbait can absolutely kill it! When they will hit those moving baits, it's the greatest thing ever!

I like these kind of videos. My uncle, a catfisherman, used to swear by barometric pressure readings. Any real wisdom to that method, and does it still apply to bass?
@jelinor96117 жыл бұрын
Drowning Worms barometric pressure is a very misunderstood concept. A lot of fishermen think that when the barometric pressure is high, the ability to catch fish goes down. Not so, from my understanding, a lot of pro fishermen like a high pressure scenario. The reason is it pulls fish close to structure. They are relating to wood or church rock or a channel ledge. This makes the fish more predictable. During a low pressure situation fish tend to be more scattered or not as likely to be relating to some type of structure. Chad can probably explain it better than I, just thought I would give you something to chew on. Tight Lines
@alexkoutdoor6 жыл бұрын
I've been having great success with a swim jig over the past few years. It's versatility is the reason, you can change up your presentation with it and cater to the mood of the fish.

Hey Chad, could you go over tips for boat position? Or maybe fishing deep? Coming from a pond fisherman to fishing out of a kayak I feel I can fish shallow and visible cover well but I struggle when I can't get the fish to bite shallow. Thanks man keep up the good work

Do you think you can be just as effective on windy days as you can nice calm over cast or sunny days?
@kevinddunlap7 жыл бұрын
From all of the books that I have read, windy days result in better catch rates than calm days because: wind breaks up the surface of the water which makes it more difficult for the fish to see you, it oxygenates the water, and the wave action masks the sound of your boat.
@b.s.fishing59027 жыл бұрын
I'd say that it depends on how you are fishing. I don't flip mats much at all but I doubt the wind makes much of a difference for that presentation. But something like a spinnerbait, it can make a world of difference in how many fish you catch.
