Kayak BLUE LINGCOD - Great bottom fishing day!

Kayak Bottom Fishing in my local PNW waters. Lots of bottom fish and got the specific fish I was looking for!

WoW, l wanna do exactly what you did - Kayak ocean fishing, we still need more information sharing from you like Where and How ? In this video and past few Kayak videos I’ve only used one lure (4” Blue holographic buzz bomb). BUT from here on in will be showcasing a bunch of different lures. I don’t find the fish with a fish finder but study the bottom with maps and Navionics app. I look for rock piles or Little Rock mountains which makeup great Lingcod habitat. Also if you can find these near kelp beds or areas where Greenling live, that’s an massive bonus as they are one of their top prey.

I'd love to learn how to know where lingcod live. I'm in Indian arm and wondering if there are lingcod in that area

Hey! Thanks for watching and the note. I’ve spent a lot of time in Indian Arm, BUT have never fished for Lingcod there. It’s a good question, they love to eat Greenling and smaller fish, so if you can find those smaller fish you’ll probably find Lingcod. I would start by reviewing apps like navionics and studying the bottom. Look for rock piles or little mountains where they peak around 30-70 feet. Those are great habitats to start hunting these guys!

Hey! Thanks for the comment and watching. My mainline is 40# braid (but should be 50-65), I tie a barrel swivel to mainline and that swivel connects to my leader line. Leader is 3’ to 6’ long, it’s 30#-40# mono leader (don’t need expensive fluorocarbon). The buzz bomb has 3 components in package the metal lure, plastic bumper and hook. I put them on the leader line in the order I listed them. All knots are improved clinch knots.

@@BCFishingJournal thanks a lot, I tied buzz bombs for capilano beach fishing but felt something was wrong (the way it felt) never got any bites...will definitely try again....i can totally relate to your excitement of catching a big fish, its super fun !! Looking forward to many more videos
