Great tip. Thanks. Wish I had seen your video before spending $300+ on a Hobie cart.

Love my Wilderness cart. Have both types of tires, Interchange depending on beach sand or gravel, rocky trails. You are right, on uneven terrain, the straps are needed or the pro angler 14 will slide right off. The Wilderness cart is more protective too. If you go on bumpy terrain, or have to navigate a few stairs, the insert type carts can damage the thru-hull ports. This happened to a fishing buddy's Hobie Outback, where hull cracked around insert scupper areas. Oyster Point yak launch at SFO bay, gotta love-hate with that kayak launch.

Great Video. Is there any truth to the fact that the scuffer cart may be dangerous to use because some say the scuffer holes are the weakest part of the hull and could damage the hull. I don't have a heavy kayak. It's the Perception Pescador Pro 100 which weighs about 52 lbs.
@Saltyakcharters3 ай бұрын
@@steveelliott1160 thank you. Honestly, I don’t know the answer to that. We have all heard it many times, but quite frankly, I did not use the scupper cart enough to know. I only used it a few times, because I hated it. Lol.

My wilderness systems cart stores in my scupper holes out on the water . Just adjusted it that way . Maybe with work for you? Also my buddy made a braket that goes into his holes n then the cart into the bracket if your handy good luck happy kayaking 😊

Great review, I buy one wilderness today, for my oldtown pdl 120 sportsman 2023, hobie kayak cart it is not compatible, so, The great advantage of wildernes is its versatility, I think you need to explain how Wildernes is easily disassembled and can be easily stored inside a kayak, but the only problem I see is that the screws and pins rust. However thanks…. Happy kayaking I fish in Baja Mexico 🌵 🏝️ 🇲🇽

Whats the best way to get the Hobie wheels off once your boat is in the water?
@Saltyakcharters Жыл бұрын
You have to just lift it straight up so that the wheels drop out, then move the boat over to the side

Great video...I appreciate the input with your experience with pros and cons. I just received my wilderness cart and have one doubt...I noticed you put the bars on high level, I would like to know why you rather high than low level. Thanks in advance!
@Saltyakcharters Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. I’ve put mine on the high level, because it makes it easier for me to slide my kayaks up onto my trailer from the high-level.

@@Saltyakcharters good to know...does the main bar between the wheels hit some high sand dunes when transporting the kayak on the beach?
@Saltyakcharters Жыл бұрын
It has not for me, but in our area, most of the places I’m dragging it are pretty flat

@@Saltyakcharters Thank you. I put together my new wilderness cart yesterday and plan to use it tomorrow. I have a lot of experience fishing in a kayak and I have had several setbacks with other carts models, so I want to avoid surprises while on the beach so as not to waste time. Keep up with your good videos and I hope the views increase since it is an interesting comparison that you made between these 2 different carts...I was looking for hours for something like this and only your video covered it correctly. Thanks for the review. Should have reviewed C-Tug R SandTrakz as well. Old C-Tug with plate I hated but Rail was so much better. I hate Sandtakz wheels as they are not as effective on soft sand compare to balloon wheels. With Hobie scupper cart, you really need to do bungee cord mod.

I have a wildness cart for my hobie pro angler yes it’s very simple to use but I find cause of the groves under the hobie I never get it to sit on there properly what holes have you got it adjusted on to suit yours

I actually had to go look at it to answer. LOL. I have mine set very wide. There is only one more mark on each side not used. So I guess I would say that it is roughly two inches from its widest position. I wish I could have a better way to explain, but I hope that helps you. Thanks for watching, and tight lines!

amazing vid bro, do u you if wilderness Systems Cart it fix on hobie lynx ?
@Saltyakcharters Жыл бұрын
Thanks man. I really appreciate that. I can’t say for sure that it will fit on your lynx, but I think it probably would. You can adjust both the height. and the width of the cart. So you would probably be fine. If you have a wilderness systems, dealer near you, load your boat up and go over there. Ask them if you can bring a cart outside and check it for fit.

Why can’t you set the Wilderness to fit your scupper holes for fishing?
@Saltyakcharters Жыл бұрын
The wilderness cart is not a scupper cart. It is not designed to go in scupper holes. It just sits under the boat horizontally. Thank you for watching. Tight lines!

Technically, I could store it in the back of the boat. But then I would not have room for my crate, or my bait well.

Have you tried the yak attack tow n stow ones?
@Saltyakcharters Жыл бұрын
I have not, but they look pretty awesome. Same basic concept as my wilderness systems cart, so I’m sure it’s probably a good option. Also, I use a ton of yak, attack, accessories, and I have been pleased with all of them. Thank you for watching.

Which of these two is easier in soft sand?
@Saltyakcharters Жыл бұрын
I prefer the wilderness systems, but if you have to park far away from your launch just know you will be walking it back to your truck before launching, as it is too big to store in your kayak

Awesome review! I had a Hobie cart and hated having to tip the kayak over to put it in. I eventually got Boonedox Landing Gear and that was nice. Now I've progressed from Outbacks to PA 12 to the PA 14 -- definitely the "slammer jammer!" I have a trailer for most of the spots I fish, but when I can't use the trailer I have a Dynamic Dolly, which is very nice. But I think the Wilderness Systems Cart would be a great addition to my options. I only fish fresh water and can easily replace parts with stainless if necessary (though I agree for the price they should use stainless). Plus I could place the wheels in the center of the kayak, which makes it even easier to transport the kayak. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZS9mZuMrJummqc Thanks for the review! Roger, The Smiling BassHole

Agreed. Being able to place that cart in the center of the kayak makes it so much easier when I need to drag a considerable distance. Thanks for watching!
