Yes sir!!! That was a good day for sure. Happy belated Birthday! I need to get out there on a weekday, the weekends are packed with the commercial guys.

That is true. Some rivers are more crowded that others. I was lucky so far to always find a spot for some crabs.

Happy Belated Birthday, great crabbing video. Weather permitting, I hope to get out soon, too many thunderstorms with lightning around. Hopefully I’ll have some luck…

Nice kayak crabbing! I love running my kayak trotline. I made mine using a variation of your setup from an earlier video when you went over all of your gear. So far, I've caught an average of 56 crabs per trip since 2020(ofcourse I've had my rough days of 10-15 crabs after hours on the water, lol)

Yeah, I normally get 1/2 bushel to a full bushel per trip, but I fine 1/2 bushel is the sweet spot for me. What I do not eat fits perfectly in my mini fridge for me to snack on later.

I wish I was out around then. But I was in the Gulf on my birthday and in Cozumel on the 19th 😂. Glad to see you slaying them though

Thanks....and they tasted good too. I steamed some and I made a seafood boil with the rest.

@@MachFishing is it looking promising so far? I may hit the patuxent soon
@MachFishing Жыл бұрын
Yes it is looking good. The biggest crabs of the year. I heard there are lots of crabs in the Severn and in the Patuxant.

I love the video!! Great kayak setup... I'm curious what that controller on your life jacket is for? Thanks. You earned a new subscriber tonight!

The controller on my life vest is a wireless controller for my Bixpy Trolling Motor.

Watched three of your videos today and I’m wondering what river you crab. I have a Hobie 14 and am set up to run two 300’ lines if the situation called for it. Built them but haven’t tried kayak trot line crabbing. I live in Middletown Delaware and hope to talk to you at some point. Love your videos. Doug

Thanks Doug. I am glad you like my videos. I actually like to crab a several different locations depending on the year. Just south of Annapolis there is a free boat ramp and a kayak launch on the West River. There is plenty of parking and it puts you in protective water in a creek, before the mouth of the West River. I believe it is called Discovery Village, but it should not be had for you to find.

How do you know where to put in? I have a spot off the little choptank Id like to try, but not sure where in water to start.
@MachFishing Жыл бұрын
I always explore first when I check out a new area. I aim to run my trotline along a ledge, or across the mouth of a creek that drops in depth in the middle. I also lay a trotline along a shoreline, but at an angle where the depths change from shallow to deep so I can cover different depths to see which depths contains the crabs.
