Ana Reservoir located in the high desert of southeast Oregon is a true trout oasis. Water temperatures here are kept ideal year-round due to powerful springs that feed the reservoir. The reservoir is known for powerful healthy Rainbow Trout and on my recent visit it did not disappoint.

We fish for and catch a ton of wipers here in Utah. They are tremendous fighters and awesome table fare. They seem to turn on when the water is around 55 degrees. We troll shiny chrome rattletraps and white rooster tails with silver blades. Troll fast. Like 3.5 to 5 or so mph. Theyre fast and aggressive. A 4 pound wiper will snap 10 pound mono easily if your drag isnt set right. Thanks for all the info on kayak fishing and kokanee in particular. Tight lines!

do you ever troll flies? you should do a video comparing trolling flies, wedding rings, hoochies and rapalas to see which one does best. I guess it depends a lot on location, temp, depth, etc, but would be interesting to see.

With all the Kokanee and salmon fishing I do we usually end up with more than enough for our needs in the freezer and canned. I prefer the taste of salmon over trout.
