Glad it all worked out man. Rivers ain't nothing to mess with if you can't handle bad stuff like this happening. My 5 year old son and I got sucked into a fallen tree while on our yaks. Scariest moment of my life probably. Got us both out and didn't lose anything. 2 rods is better than your life or the yak being gone.

River fishing is a blast Fiesta smallmouth and running rapids is a blast. Just have to leash up your gear so if you flip on a drop you don't lose your gear. There is a pair of Oakleys in the little river LOL

Late in season, I stumbled out of my kayak at the launch. I couldn't believe the shivers I got. Couldn't believe this old Boy Scout was unprepared with a change of clothes. Fortunately, the truck warmed up fast & I was close to home. Next trip I had dry clothes in my front storage compartment....just in case.

I definitely learned a few things. There is a huge difference between a 33” wide kayak and a 42”. I had my kayak set up way too top heavy and the seat in the high position. Recipe for disaster in bad spots. But we saved the brats and the bait😂😂 live and learn!!

LOL I lost a ultra light rod earlier this year that wasn't tied down out of the shallow kayak holder and knocked it out, don't use them! I have lanyards for everything but do I use them.... nope. hahaha I had 2 big takedowns last night but I think they were pike or something because the one was on a chub and the other on a green sunfish below the dam and it was one slam clicker zinging on both. I want to see the rest of this night in the next video. BTW there is some current in that river like the Wapsi.

One reason I've never sat in a kayak-canoe yes but not a kayak. Actually these last 2 springs I spent time shopping them, than rethought. That would of been all saltwater usage until lately. Now that I also live on your favorite Florida river, if I had one I'd be flipping it there too-most likely. Lot of entire trees in this area of the river, some unknown to be there until the river lowered 5 feet in the last 4 weeks. Glad he was safe-and didn't lose the bait!

So, If you make an X cut in the end of a piece of pipe, bend the cuts down , mash the other end and drill a hole for a rope, it makes a decent grapple. Good for lost rods and anchors, don't ask me how I know. lol

Man, I dont know how long your friend a d you fished for his poles, did he not feel around with his feet? I would have took my shoes off and walked around some! Never give up on your poles, their like your kids and best friend when your fishing. You need to go back with a magnet and drag it around that area some, before the current takes them. It's worth a shot!

We have it 30 minutes. The water was 6' so that made it tough in that current
