@@kristinefischer2289 could you add what trailer you use for Hobie kayak? Thank you!

Super helpful info! We heard that for the 2023 Hobie BOS series you must have a METAL Ketch board. Hobie hasn't posted the rules as of yet, but AJ mentioned it in a live video a few days ago. It can be an older metal Ketch board, but said that they prefer the new Ketch X since it's much easier to read the measurement lines.

Seems like a lot of clubs are going to metal boards only. I found this out as soon as my karbonate board arrived -.-
@battlefieldoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
@@Afro_Turbo ughh that stinks. I read a post on Reddit about a guy in a tournament who had put his plastic board in the oven and then squished it down about 1.5" shorter. I'm not sure why they're changing, but these metal ones are costly!

Yes I linked the metal boards!

Rather than keeping the fish in the net, even while in the water, I would recommend using something like the Cal Coast Fishing Donkey Leash. The advantage is that the donkey leash lets the fish swim about and stay revived while you are getting your measuring board and camera out for a quick pic. Additionally, there is no chance it will flop out of the net and you'll lose it. I've used the donkey leash for a few years now and highly recommend it.

Great stuff Kristine! It's a good idea for those of you going out on the water in the kayak to also have a good set of needle nose pliers with a tether or floating pliers and most essential...A roll of toilet paper! :)

1 question, do you know of an organization that help disabled folks get into kayak fishing? So getting into a kayak physically is a small challenge but sitting all day without standing up can make for an interesting experience and a cold 🥶 one too. The costs too, are way up just for the kayak!
@kristinefischer22892 жыл бұрын
Off the top of my head I’m not sure- but I would check out the internet for local clubs and groups! I know there are several for veterans! They also make a stand to assist bar which makes it much easier to stand comfortably

Please use a stabilizers on your kayak seen a kayak fishermen almost drown because he did not have any pfd or stabilizers on his boat the only reason he is alive is because a guy on the beach called 911 to save him you can see the video on KZbin. Please stay safe God bless.
@jakegauger70122 жыл бұрын
The hobie and old town kayaks are seriously stable. You can stand up without any instability. It's the boats that you see in the $800 or below range that are going to be dangerous. This is geared towards bass fishing not any saltwater fishing.
@kristinefischer22892 жыл бұрын
I’ll echo what you said! PFD always a good idea, but no need for stabilizers on most large true fishing yaks
