Very helpful - thank you. I’m not a video watcher (I prefer reading) but your videos hold my attention because your rich content is delivered with clear speech and pace.

That was pretty nicely done! I highly recommend keeping your phone attached to you in that waterproof case. If you get separated from your kayak and its contents, you only have what you have on you. I also recommend a layered communication strategy, especially when fishing big water or remote waters. A handheld waterproof VHF radio is great in coastal environments. A PLB or subscription based satellite communicator is also a good idea. I keep an emergency ditch kit containing those items and other safety, survival and signaling equipment in a dry bag, out on deck in a float free location.

It’s saved me and several others! Doesn’t take up much room! The marine grade ones are the deal, and they’re only like $7! Doesn’t hurt to have one

My #1 would have to be a net! I’ve lost so many big fish at the side of the yak before I had a net. Great list!

So the next video I’m posting is tournament fishing accessories- I added a net to that list! I don’t always use one when I’m fun fishing! But ALWAYS during a tournament! Definitely something folks should consider !

Make it a big one. I have a small one and when my fish jump off the measure board, they jump past my net.
@AaronKellerFishing2 жыл бұрын
@@tombosanko3085 haha that can happen. Always best to try and measure in the floor of the kayak.

Those kayak kushions are a butt-saving game changer!! We sell more of those than any accessory, especially the days leading up to Chickamauga Lake tournaments. Is that fish scales on the one in this video?

Awesome list! I have some version (some identical!) of each of these. I do tether my phone (also my camera) but also have a Savur Outdoors Gear Float attached to my phone, just in case! And I'm sorry to say I know the Savur does work (I also have them on my fishing rods). Thanks for the awesome post! Roger, The Smiling BassHole

An accessory that many leave out, is the soundtrack needed to play, while putting it all together.

I was listening to Girl from the North Country on a playlist for a TV series from several years ago. It sounded a bit like a mission planning tune to me. It made me smile for some reason, and think about kayak anglers.

Interesting. She has the best Kayak out there and still uses a cushion to sit on and Im sure she stands a good bit. That tells me Kayak seats could be made to be more comfortable.

@@kristinefischer2289 I have a Vibe Seaghost and they say the seat is comfortable. Its ok but also bought a seat cushion. I rent an Hobie Outback when I visit my Dad in Naples, that seat is better.
