Mental Mingulay

''Mental ''(colloq. West Scotland: amazing, mind expanding. Mental!)
Its not been a good summer, but here a narrow window of opportunity in July opened, allowing for a long-anticipated paddle to Berneray and Mingulay, the most outer SW islands of the Outer Hebrides. There was only time for a day paddle, to Mingulay itself (from Sandray), going round Barra Head as well, camping on Sandray before and after.
Sea conditions were lumpy on the west side, limiting close approach, nevertheless it was still good enough to show here some of the spectacular rockscapes and provide an look at the various islands.
