I’ve been in Shetland for 4 months on a locum contract with the hospital. I absolutely love it here, the people are so friendly.....it’s kind of changed my life and I couldn’t think of a better place to be during lockdown! I’m very lucky to have been blessed with this opportunity 👍🏻🤗. Thank you Shetland x

Ooh to hear that lovely "Shetland" theme, feel the hairs rise on the back of my neck and visualise Douglas Henshall as he stands in that ruined barn, turning his gentle face towards the camera

I’m also a BIG Shetland series fan, which I’m sure has helped to boost tourism as the cinematography was amazing. ❤️My husband was born in Scotland so another reason to love it :)))

1:15 - If you ever fly to Shetland, suggestion is to go from Aberdeen. Reason being is that if the airplane goes up to Sumburgh, circles around, can't land, it will go back to Aberdeen -- and then you can take the ferry. This happened to me once. Your video brought back memories. 10:45 - Wow. I lived on Unst in Haroldswick, just down from the most Northern Post Office. It's been a while, but it may have been that house in top left of 11:10 Did you come across Arctic Terns - they are very territorial and do dive-bombing raids on humans...

Really envy anyone who can travel to and make a home in such a remote and beautiful place,as Shetland.I've spent all of my life in a polluted and crime infested city(all cities are the same,worldwide,unfortunately...)-and i want and need out, permanently.I do not have much money,BUT i do have incredible desire to transcend such a worthless environment, once and for all.I could tent it and occasionally hostel-from one place to another-just a backpack of personal items and the clothes on my body-yomp,yomp,yomp!I would be doing it solo, unlike other

@@tankthepitbull520 No,im from South west Scotland. All the Islands, have at some point, been owned by the Irish(Dal Riada)and the Norwegians, its just that Shetland was the last one to become part of Scotland! I’m watching this only because British baker James Morton is from the Shetland islands and from the smallest town I’ve ever seen. No wonder he learned baking. As I’m from the states im shocked he is from such a far off place and surprised neither he nor the media nor these islands made anything of it that British bake off James Morton is from this area. Weird.
