If you're still in Auckland for much longer, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend visiting Mangawhai - especially the Surf Beach and Estuary! I've been to all the places you've visited in NZ so far, yet Mangawhai Heads is still my most favourite place in the world! Although I'm kinda biased because I used to have a bach up there so it's really special to me... BUT STILL! The drive up there from Auckland is also beautiful, and it's only around an hour and half's drive!
