Kayaking on an ACIDIC VOLCANO Lake in ECUADOR - Quilotoa Crater Lake Hike!
Our final adventures in Ecuador before we head to another country in South America. In this video we hired a car to explore outside the city of Quito and made our way to see the famous Volcanic crater lake Quilotoa at 3914m.
Although we didn’t do the hike around the edge of the crater we did hike down into it and even kayaked across the lake which was incredible and a little terrifying as the water is acidic and can burn your skin so you really don’t want to get it on you.
We made it back up in time to catch the sunset over the caldera and then had a panic because our not so trusty hire car decided not to start when we attempted to drive the three hours back to the city ahead of our flight the next day!

Wow what a trip! Beautiful lake & great to be there when it’s SO quiet! You timed it right - got to see the lake at its most natural! Yes too much for the elderly both up & down! Great bonus seeing the sunset over the lake too! Shame about the car but What a stroke of luck catching that man! 👍 all in all great success! Thankyou!
