Kayaking the Hiwassee River - Lost GoPro

Paddling the Hiwassee River in a 12' Wilderness Kayak, flipped once and lost my GoPro.
My friends and I decided to kayak the upper and lower Hiwassee River on July 4th. So much fun... We dropped a vehicle at Gee Creek boat ramp and drove up to the Powerhouse upstream to launch our kayaks.
I did lose my GoPro it was stuck on my kayak (this is the time in the video). My kayak flipped and I'm guessing a rock knocked it loose. I can give anyone a detailed description of it and what's written on the back for a safe return. It was in the waterproof case.
My backup GoPro the case came open and it got wet and stopped working as well. So far Hiwassee River 2, Johnny's GoPros 0.
I want to thank Marc, Krista, Ashley, and Sarah for the fun day out on the river. I can't wait to kayak it again. Next time I'll be in one of my other kayaks.

I lost my Prescription Sunglasses there. Lesson:. When Kayaking secure and keep everything attached. One more thing. You are brave kayaking there in an open hard Kayak. Know of some the Hiwasse broke and sank. Those Class 2 Rapids can sometimes border on Class 3 Rapids.

You are 100% right. I'm always scared that I'm going to break it going down those rapids. I'd much rather ride in my 9 foot SOT yak but i'm stuck with my 14 footer. sold my WW yak about 5 years ago. Yes it was totally my fault I didn't tie it in as backup and that's my fault. oh well I hate that I lost it but it's in a waterproof case so whomever finds it it should still work. With my sunglasses I use that band around those that way they can't fall in.

Great video. I have the exact same unit, a tarpon 120 and just curious if you would still go down it using the same boat. Any problems that you would advise of with a 120?
