This video is so endearing to me. My partner and I live in a homebuilt truck camper that he built about 9 months before I came to meet him. And to see all the work he went through before I arrived on the scene really touches my heart.

Nice to see there are still some cool women out there, that likes to build stuff, instead of those "daddy's little princesses", that doesn't even know how to wipe a car dashboard with a microfiber towel. Respect earned right there! 👍

Great little how-to video, and fantastic soundtrack !. I really enjoyed it and picked up lots of useful tips seeing i am a complete rookie when it comes to this stuff. I was actually thinking of hiring a person here and there to tackle certain jobs but now that i have seen your video, I am quite confident i can tackle most all of what I want to have done by myself. I look forward to the challenge and being able to say that i converted it by myself....will make me appreciate my home away from home all the more.....happy wanderings !!!

A friend of mine has one and I've been working on it from time to time. It's the longest sprinter chassis with the highest clearance roof. It has a refrigerator, microwave oven, 2 ceiling fan vents, an escape hatch (ceiling 24" x 24"), a satellite dish, 3 large batteries, 2 different size inverters, a shower, 5 video cameras with a dvd recorder, 2 fresh water tanks, water heater, etc. etc. The 3 batteries and 1 fresh water tank/water pump are under the floor...you might want to figure our if you have some space you can use under the floor, but you already got your sub-floor and flooring in.

You have any photos or video on it?
@1Trupurpose8 жыл бұрын
I don't have photos or video, but at one time he and I were making a video showing all the features and how to operate everything. He's also a little paranoid of people knowing what all is in his van because he's concerned someone will try and steal stuff. He has an alarm system and I installed 5 video cameras and a DVR.

I love this. I've been looking into this concept for a few weeks now but tonight I decided I really want this. Wanderlust hit me so hard. I used to be quite the outdoorsman but when I joined the Army I kinda gave it up. I have been out of the Army for 2 years now and I'm driving myself crazy with the hustle and bustle of college life. I don't get out of enough. And by out I don't mean going out and partying and drinking all night; that doesn't appeal to me anymore. I want to see things and travel. I want to be able to get away even if it just for a night or two. I need an outlet. I feel like if I can make this happen it will help drastically with my PTSD and reconnect me with the life I once loved so dearly. I have no intentions of quitting college as I have dreams I want to accomplish in that area as well but I need to be able to escape from time to time and I want something my dog and I can take weekend roadtrips in. Thank you so much for this. It was a huge inspiration.
@KayaLindsay7 жыл бұрын
I'm glad this helps! Get out there! But be careful, the lifestyle can give you the travel bug and make it hard to want to finish college :) Best of luck to you!

Kaya Lindsay Thank you for the response. Do you recommend the Sprinter? I do need something with a higher roof because I am 6'5". I don't expect to find something I can stand up in but I don't want to be completely hunched over all the time either.
@KayaLindsay7 жыл бұрын
100% recommend the sprinter. You won't find a better vehicle for the gas mileage/size/cost than a used sprinter. Just make sure you take really good care of it because they have mercedes engines. Also you'll want the 2009 and up versions, they are 6'4" on the inside! Mines a 2006 and is only 5'11".
