Very hard to have sympathy with anyone who has 6 kids and is on the streets doing drugs with some random drug addict instead of fighting to be with her kids. I can't imagine how devastating it would be for those kids to look their mother up some day and see videos of her acting like this and being happy to be on the streets using, when they were going through life without a mother.

Ive battled with opiod addiction to the point i hit rock bottom on life support having my last rights being read to me i was 23 had 2 kids only afew years old after that day i needed to stop being selfish and to look at my kids and say you both deserve a better mom so im going to work to become that mother you both deserve. And still to this day they give me strength to continue to be sober

Living in Australia, we don't have anything close to this. Homelessness is rising, tents are out there being loved in, so are business doorways, opioid addiction is present. But this level of destitution I have not seen, even in the slum areas of Melbourne.

While I’m not parent, I can completely understand others not wanting their children exposed. With that being said, I run a detox unit and wish that there was some way to emphasize the danger of this harsh reality to kids. I live in Philly, and Kensington has one of the highest incidence of drug abuse/addiction. I’ve been a nurse for over 13 years and despite all my experience in this field, I don’t have a good “solution”…💔 It’s like despair!

Yeah, I agree strongly with you! Just like to me, the Club life & Partying hard is no longer a good thing to do when people suddenly become pregnant having children & in a committed relationship. But this is 2023 and young kids have phones these days. ​@@Mara.La888 the families and friends can't do anything while they're on detox, only professionals can and the addicts themselves. After detox and when in recovery is when they truly need the family and friends; it takes atleast 2 yrs of sobriety for emotional detox to happen and 5 yrs for recovery to be truly felt and become real. Addiction is a brutal disease, but it takes the addict themselves in the forefront before anything else, and family and friends must know that it will take years before they can truly have their person back, it's alot of love and more love to support an addict to keep sobriety.

These people make me sick. I pray that the children have been placed in safe and loving homes. We had our son placed in our arms at 6 weeks old his biological mother didn’t want him anymore. This was her 5th child to be taken from her because of meth and alcohol. We are so grateful for our son and for every hug and kisses we get makes it worth it.

They are decent people. They are not too far gone yet. They could still pull it together. They need detox and a long term treatment center but eventually they could have thier lives back. I pray for them. They have worth. 😢 i will absolutely be praying for these guys and all the others. I have been in thier position. I was homeless and drug addicted in las Vegas and was able to pull myself out. I have been clean and with a job and home 3 years now! Its possible. It just takes work but its such a better life. ❤

I stayed at Set Free. While I lived there, I saw a man that way recovering from street drugs while his wife was still addict prostitute coming by the church to eat and see her husband. It was concerning; however, the husband understood his wife's addiction to needles.

Of course it’s beyond unfortunate and very sad that those 9 kids have to suffer for the selfishness of their parents…but that is the selfish nature of addiction. It cuts the addict while hacking away at all relationships because at the end of the day, the addict gets high and doesn’t have to deal with what others go through while watching them self-destruct. Opioids numb pain. It’s not uncommon for addicts to seem like they don’t care about others but this is also a common side effect of opioid addiction, especially. You just…numb the pain and eventually numb the reactions to the world around you.

Its really hard to get clean while in a junk relation ship. I dated a fellow junky for 9 years and its hard enough to stop for yourself the chances of both of you wanting to get clean the same day is like 1 in a million. I shot heroin and coke for over a decade. I used methadone to get off of heroin. At least with methadone your not breaking the law it really helps you get stablized. Best of luck to these young adults. Only 1 % of opiate addicts get clean and stay clean so since i got clean and have stayed clean that means 99 other people died or are back on it. Horrible odds

I dont have pity for these people. Im a sole mum of 3 kids with disabilities, and i clean houses for a living. I was abused by their father, but i never took any drugs because i know i have a responsibility to look after my kids. Its not anyone elses responsibility to look after my children than mine. I forsake having a relationship with a man because the kids are not resdy for me to do that. I feel lonely everyday. Its very hard. But i know im making the best choice for my kids and myself.
