@@joshuamarshall1718 No, this video is sponsored by Bellesa, a company that produces sex toys. Kayla Says promotes a vibrator within the video. The sponsored segments appeared at 0:00-0:05 and 2:07-3:31. @@joshuamarshall1718 I swear I replied, but I guess my reply was deleted. No, it is not a targeted ad. There was also a moment where people thought Taylor was demonic for doing “witchcraft” during her performance of “Willow” during the Evermore set. We’re currently in an era on the Internet where people are rage baiting and engagement farming by trying to bring others DOWN. It’s actually gotten to a point where I am not enjoying going on social as much because it feels like almost everything is about taking someone else down and is negative, and it just leaves a person feeling like EVERYTHING is negative. It not only leaves a feeling of depression but one of the not being safe no matter what you do. It feels like a collective Big Brother is watching and critiquing to control everyone. Dystopian. It essentially doesn’t feel safe to do anything in this world without someone coming around and trying to use you for engagement by trying to take you down. It’s sad. Thank you for speaking truth to this BS. Pulling the curtain back and showing us that it’s actually either BS guys who are coming after a woman for their own benefit by trying to rage bait, or its other artist stands trying to take down the new threat. It’s really great to have investigative journalism like this to show people what’s really happening behind the scenes by connecting the dots! Bravo! ❤️❤️❤️ We really need to start collectively teaching media literacy to everyone. Please continue making videos like this where you teach media literacy by teaching people how to consider the source, and look up who is saying what, and what their ulterior motive is - especially when there’s a conflict of interest, or they’re just trying to make money in a dirty way by trying to take someone down for their own personal gain. ❤️❤️❤️

This is ironic, because yesterday I was having a conversation with a friend about how the internet is having the same arguments it was having several years ago, just with new lingo. So it makes sense that when there aren’t actually endless hordes of moms clutching their pearls over a pop star doing a sexy dance, that people would just show up and say their lines for that argument anyway.

I find it weird that this scare never applied to Katy Perry. She was one of the biggest artists of 2010, her songs & music videos were everywhere. I was a fan and I was a kid.

If parents were outraged, why is their kid allowed to listen. It would be like taking a kid to a Marilyn Manson show and being surprised it’s not geared to kids. I think you are very right.

Am I the only person who thought concerts altogether aren't for children? Like sure, there are theatre shows and stuff for them to go to but full on arena tours? I wasn't allowed to go to one until I was a teenager.

I saw a twitter post a few months back & it was like Sabrina Carpenter is so inappropriate & I'm 17 & I'm afraid of Sabrina Carpenter she scares me & she's not for kids & those of you who like her need help. Then when I clicked on the account it said it had all of these mean comments about Sabrina & they made fun of her facial features but the account praised Ariana Grande & Taylor Swift. The first thing I thought was if you're so scared of her then why are posting & tweeting about her? I thought it was really weird.

Please bear with me when I make this comparison. I feel Sabrina Carpenter is sort of like a burlesque dancer. I know her dancing is not that style, but the way she balances the sexiness with being tasteful about it is. Burlesque dancers manage to stay covered while hinting in a cheeky way they are taking their clothes off or whatever. If there was controversy, I get some people’s points, but people need to stop using Disney Channel celebs as their kid’s role models and be proactive in their kid’s lives. And Disney Channel needs to stop with the purity image they inflict their stars with. I get making something appropriate for children and teens, but the stars are allowed to experiment or embrace certain aspects of their sexuality and personality. I also hate how some still act like it is not ok for said celebs to grow up and mature more.

Firstly, I love your channel discovered it this year, and you’re one of my favs :3 Second, so I watch your channel and Honests channel, and when you guys bring up these controversies it’s the first I’m hearing about, like I may see some of this stuff on TikTok but it’s mostly just like actual news and stuff about other creators . But unless it’s something extreme like from artist like morally wrong or horrible behavior or bad situations, I don’t see these petty negative controversies. I must really be good at the internet lol but even on twitter, I only use it to look up stuff about artist I like and root for, and I would have to search up the controversy.

The internet has brought out the absolute worst in people. I doubt those Taylor Swift fan accounts were real. Taylor loves Sabrina and had her open for her on many of The Eras Tour dates. That is the most exposure a pop artist can get. Taylor called this past summer "The Summer of Sabrina" when her album came out. She congratulated Sabrina on her 3 songs she had released all being in the top ten. Swifties usually don't go against someone Taylor likes. I know that is ridiculous. It is mainly the 9-18 year old that came out of nowhere the last several years. I have done what you have on artists that get tons of hate that I feel is for no reason and found the same thing. The only comments on their page is their hate comments toward a single artist or nothing on their page. Many of them are teenage boys. There are way to many nasty people who spend all day just writing negative comments. If you look at the rude comments about any artists, you will start to notice the same usernames over and over.

I think it’s so interesting that “Former Disney Star” has only recently been tied to her image. She really wasn’t that well known while she was on Disney, besides the children / tweens that were watching Disney Channel at the time who would be a similar age to her now. She was putting out music, but she wasn’t selling out tours or even really singing on the show she was on. It made sense for outrage (real or manufactured) for someone like Miley Cyrus for example who had become a household name while on Disney for her music - she was absolutely synonymous with Hannah Montana. Her character was inseparable from herself in terms of branding. Her fans WERE transferred directly from Miley Stewart to Miley Cyrus once the wig came off (and the contract ended). But Sabrina… Disney really isn’t that much a part of her image. Most of her fans didn’t come from there. She’s been separated from Disney for years and years. She didn’t “grow up in a matter of seconds” the way Miley was perceived to.
@pancakesxoxo1064Ай бұрын
Exactly! Like I know for sure your 10 yr old kid didn't watch her on disney! And the kids who did watch her are like 18 to 25 now! They will spit any bs just to hate on her.

Kayla, in case you’re curious, I think I’ve found the article mentioned at 9:01. The comments shown on screen are actually from two different articles. The first two are from The Express Tribune (which is apparently an English-language newspaper based out of Pakistan) and the second two are from an article that was posted both on some celebrity gossip site called The Blast as well as Yahoo. However, there are no sources in either articles or even links to the original tweets, so it still seems very weird to me.

Kinda ironic how you don't see this PC behavior at metal shows. When you consider the subject matter of a lot of bands, the overall aggressive tone of their music, and band members may use profanity on stage, yet a lot of metal shows are all ages. Parents love to bring their small children because it's just hanging out regardless of what is in the show. No it doesn't damage society because you'll forget those small interactions by the time the night is over. Sabrina's show is no different and should be considered as such. (IOW bring your kids and everyone enjoy themselves!)

Madonna was rolling around on the floor of a church, in skin tight lingerie, for her Like a Prayer video. I was a teenager at that time, this stuff happens in every generation, I can't believe it's still "shocking." Madonna even got to keep the 5 million she made on her Pepsi contract even though the commercial was canceled. WHAT? If you're taking a child somewhere, why wouldn't you look up what is going to happen? Does this guy drop his child off at just any babysitter, without looking for ref, and making sure the person is safe? Why is it a singers job to change her performance? That's DAD'S job that's MOM'S job.

Something interesting about this is that it’s not entirely unique to the internet, but the medium in which these controversies take place has changed. Back when most people received their news from major sources like tabloids and news stations and radio, there were still a lot of cases of people getting mad about something no one was actually doing for the purpose of having a bunch of reaffirming conversations with people who already agree with everything you say. However, the internet makes it so it’s incredibly easy for us to contribute to this. So many more people have channels and podcasts and blogs and followings, and not only can that be used to spread these controversies, but they directly profit off of them (although to be fair, so did news organizations of the past- this sort of controversy is great at selling copies because it makes people angry, but since everyone agrees they’re still going to support you). It’s so fascinating to see how things stay the same and how they change. The same behaviors emerge, but the internet changes the scope and speed of information drastically.

Its crazy because only Sabrinas fanvase who are now adults know her as a Disney Star...like i am sure their is a 5th grader who is a fan of Sabrina now because kids always find content that is inappropriate and don't realize it. I def listened to pop stars singing about sex and didn't realize it for years. Im not saying fhats good but i am saying no one knows her really as a Disney star in my opinion
