You can't use uv resin to attach the pin, but you can do another coat of resin once it's been glued on, makes a more durable and more polished looking pin. These are super cute! ❤

Wow! You can change Print and Cut to Basic, use Contour and change it back to Print and Cut??!! 🤯 Also FYI, all UV resin is non-mix. I like JDiction UV resin, it doesn’t get sticky. On the rare occasion that it does, I find just leaving it overnight works. I would have used just a touch more resin than you did and silicone “brush”, I think it would have helped it spread better. These are so cute! I want to try photo Christmas ornaments this way so thanks for the tips!

@kaitlynlieberman706718 күн бұрын
You may have been handling it before it was fully cured. Otherwise, try a different brand/ uv light.
@emjay75902 ай бұрын
I forgot to answer your question about using the resin instead of the glue. Absolutely you can use it. Just remember the light cannot cure where the light doesn't hit. So you can scratch a little bit to roughen the surface where the pin will be. Use a pin or the tip of a metal nail file or scissors to dig in just a bit. Just to give the resin something more to grab onto. Your glue might suggest that too. Even just a little X is better than nothing. Add one drop and set the pin into the resin. Cure once and turn it different angles after the first 30 seconds of the cure cycle. Then you can tip it to let the light get in under that pin a bit. Then drop and spread a bubble of resin over the base and cover the area. Let it spread out just a bit more so it's touching the other resin already there and finish the full curing cycle. You'll have a secure pin for sure. Test both ways and see which way you like better. Sometimes it's still a preference thing. The scratching part is a tip I learned from my Dad years ago and see others doing it as well. It helps the bond be stronger when even just one side of the parts being glued are smooth.

No, you can’t use the UV resin to attach the pin backing- the UV light wouldn’t be able to penetrate to the resin- POSSIBLY if you were using the translucent shrink paper😊
@tarabooartarmy36542 ай бұрын
Technically, you can. You just put the resin on the outside of the pin back. You can use regular craft glue under the back and resin over the top for extra hold.
@supergirlwildstar2 ай бұрын
You can use bezel tape to have your pins not move. I also use the 30cc soufflé cups upside down. Tape the materials to that and then move your resin to the edges that way. E6000 is going to be a better choice for gluing your backs! You won’t be able to light up the resin good enough!
