I’ve never heard anyone articulate that clumpy situation from the oil that causes visible scalp and am feeling so understood rn. Forever thankful to hear hair tips from someone who’s both an expert and has hair like me.

Could you do some hairstyles for summer “social season” (don’t know what to call this LOL!) but for clubbing, night out, concert, backyard BBQ...some fun summery styles! This is super helpful, thanks. ❤️ The cowlick thing- I have cowlick in my bangs (I don't really have bangs, just the hair that frames your face, the side swept part, idk what it's called) and it creates this weird not flattering gap that makes my forehead visible. Ugh I hate it so much. Sometimes it's even there just after washing.
@brigetteedinborough95415 жыл бұрын
Kateřina Černá Try blow drying the front of your hair with a round brush in the opposite direction it lays. Sometimes I will go back and forth-dry it to one side, then the other. Then when it’s dry, do a quick cool down in the direction you want it to lay. It’s not perfect, but it helps a lot. Even if I don’t want to dry the rest of my hair, I’ll do my bangs so my cowlick doesn’t show so bad. Well, cowlicks-I have four in front and keep cutting bangs.
@katerinacerna85555 жыл бұрын
@@brigetteedinborough9541 Ooh, I feel you. I have like one and a half. Thanks for the tips, firstly I was not so happy, I hate blow-drying my hair, it makes them all weird and smooth and too straight, staticy. But blow-drying only my bangs, that sounds promising. I usually try to think through how should I place it while drying to make it invisible, but since I often go to sleep with damp hair,it's a lottery.

For the visible scalp, I take the finest tooth comb I own and kind of redistribute the hair (if it's in a braid or updo). It breaks up the clumps. That sounds so gross. But combined with dry shampoo it works really well!

Kayley I would love a video with more info on wearing the hair powder you use! If you're using it on day two, is it not an issue later on? Getting on pillowcases or anything? Do you need to clean it back out again with dry shampoo the next day? ANy breakouts? I've never seen this produt before but could be so useful to me so I'm very curious about the usage, especially for prolonging hair between washes!

Love this. Thanks so much. I have been growing out my color so that my color is now salt and pepper. I am loving it, but I cut my hair very short and wake up every morning with a huge cowlick in the back. I used my Kristen Ess thing to straighten it out and that really worked. Then I used the IGK dry shampoo and I'm able to pull off another day. Yeah! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

A great tip for sweaty hair after the gym is to try to prevent it by wearing a headband! I recommend one specifically for sports as it has a more sweat wicking fabric rather than just cotton. When I forget my headband at the gym my hair gets absolutely soaked with sweat but with the headband it is soo much less!

I wash my hair every 2-3 days, but this past week I went for 4 days because I was lazy. I just slicked back my hair in a bun. Put some gel on it to make it lay down and washed it that night. When I want to wear my hair long but the crown of my hair wants to be flat, I'll use a hair clip to create a half up/half down style, similar to what you did with the bobby pins. I only ever use dry shampoo when I straighten my hair because it gets oily so fast, but I don't like how it makes my roots feel. It almost "hurts" because it doesn't let my scalp breathe. Luckily, my hair doesn't get oily like it used to since I changed my hair routine. No more sulfates!

One go-to tip for me going into second/fifth/whatever day hair is mixing a bit of conditioner and water in my hands and smoothing and scrunching it into my hair. As someone who tends to wear my natural texture more often than not, this adds moisture and also revives the natural texture. Just thought I’d mention it for anyone who has more textured hair!

Hi Kayley! Touching on the back-of-the-head cowlick situation: I'm hoping you might have an idea or suggestion for me. My hair does the lovely cowlick split/part down the back of my head and I've used your tips to help disguise it. However, I have one additional issue with "the situation" - the top layer of my hair where this happens does not grow! My stylist cannot figure out what it's doing or why. There's no breakage there, no split ends. And because it's only on one side of my head, she has to cut my top layer of hair on the opposite side too try and blend it all together. Lord knows us thin, fine-haired women cannot afford to lose the hair we have to layers. Do you have any ideas what my hair is doing or why? I'd appreciate any ideas, info, advice you might have. Thanks in advance!

I do wear my hair up all the time so that helps with the longevity but halfway through the week I separate the front of my hair (bangs and back to the crown and wash only that as that’s what gets dirty. I use dry shampoo and dry conditioner and hair oil or cream halfway thought the week as well
