Why I Am Waiting Until Marriage... (HONEST ANSWER)

In this video I share why I am waiting until marriage with the hopes of encouraging anyone else who might have made this decision or answering any questions for anyone considering it. Waiting until marriage can be a very taboo topic, so I hope that me sharing my reasons for doing so can answer some of your questions about why as Christians we should do this, or why this even a thing, or why anyone in general (Christian or not Christian) would even wait to have sex until marriage.

Thank you for being vulnerable and creating this video. I am also waiting till marriage. I am new to the Faith, but I have already made this decision for myself. My number one reason for waiting till marriage is to honor God. The other reasons have come from witnessing the outcomes of other people who did not wait till marriage such as getting broken hearts, having babies with people that they regret having babies with, and catching unwanted diseases. I know the society and the world that we live in does not encourage waiting till marriage, but that’s not my problem because I will be waiting till marriage. Some women I know sleep with any guy that gives them attention and some women sleep with guys that they have a connection with. To each their own, but for me, I need connection AND commitment. It’s not too difficult to find someone that you have a connection with, but commitment (especially from men) is usually the issue. Just because a guy sleeps with you, doesn’t mean that he loves you and wants to be committed to you and a lot of females don’t understand that. A lot of men don’t get caught up in the emotions of sleeping with a woman. They get what they want, they leave, and the female is now broken hearted. Lastly, I feel like sleeping with one another prior to marriage can blind you from other serious issues in regards to the person and relationship because both people are distracted by only their intimate connection. With that being said, many people fall in love with the intimate connection that they have with someone instead of the actual person that they are sleeping with. I can never go wrong by following God’s will for my life!

Thanks for sharing this part of your life ❤ I look at you and wish I had never had sex before marriage 😭 you are absolutely right that it only brings suffering. I was in a relationship with someone for almost four years. We lived together and we were engaged twice (I broke off the engagement and then I was asked by him again...and then broke it off for the final time). God rescued me from that relationship! I am now waiting for marriage but I am working on how to express that decision with my friends who are not waiting. Maybe that could be a new video idea?
