In the comics, Wade is artificially given powers rather than having them awakened, and his imperfect healing factor supercharges his cancer while also keeping it from killing him, so he basically becomes a walking tumor. I guess what Francis says kind of suggests something similar Ah ha! A Deadpool reference you don’t know! Bob is a reference to his best friend and occasiobal sidekick in the comics, Bob Agent of Hydra. Since Hydra was restricted to MCU Marvel at the time, they had to adjust him

Bob has bounced around a couple of agencies I think.

My favorite line from the movie is one of the serious ones: "The worst part about cancer isn’t what it does to you, but what it does to the people you love." Definitely can relate to this concept after seeing my grandmother's dementia affecting the rest of my family.

"He was wearing it the whole time?!" The idea of Wade wearing the Hugh Jackman face throughout the finale makes it all the funnier. Deadpool 2 has spoilers for Wolverine: Origins and Logan fyi, and both Deadpools have after credits scenes (in case you missed the one here)

To elaborate on what others have said, Ryan Reynolds after playing in blade 3 was told by a producer of the movie he should check out Deadpool and was given some comics so Ryan read them and he said the first panel he read was of Deadpool comparing him self to a cross between Ryan Reynolds and a sharpai. And that is when he knew he had to be Deadpool.

It’s funny how you said the nudity and sex stuff was a little too much for you, but the gratuitous violence you were cool with it. This is not a critique on you, but maybe on American audiences in that we’re so desensitized to violence and gore, but we (as a culture) have no idea how to handle sexuality on screen. Personally, I have no problem with the combination of both, I mean, the Deadpool films are obviously not for kids. But maybe because this film ties into the X-Men franchise, which is certainly more family friendly (excluding 2017’s “Logan”) do some audience members feel a bit uneasy with the sexy stuff. Sex in comics is something often loosely explored, as a majority of comics, especially A-list titles like X-Men, the Avengers, are for teen audiences. So writers have to be careful not to go too far with sexual themes. Violence, however gets an almost free pass nearly all the time. Case in point is Marvel’s Zombies series, or even World War Hulk. Of course there were many times where comic companies did sexually exploit certain fan favorite female characters in swimsuit calendars, sexualized variant covers, and even giving some female characters highly provocative costumes (see: X-Men’s Emma Frost, Dazzler, Black Cat, DC’s Power Girl, Catwoman, etc.).

I love this comment and take on this subject. I still remember as a horny pre-teen in the late 80's staying up late at night after my parents had gone to bed to watch Skinemax in the off chance of catching a nipple or two after suffering through 45 minutes of unnecessary plot. Or watching that scrambled porn FTW. And yet the gratuitous violence in those days was non-existent. It's literally become the opposite today. Seeing someone be decapitated can be shown in a PG-13 movie and is perfectly fine for todays American audiences, if you dare to show a nipple? Sorry ppl, that's NC-17. What a weird transition we've made in our sensibilities over the past 30 years.
