It's starting to become a lot harder to believe that the elemental effects in demon slayer aren't real. I know the author said that they aren't, but it feels very inconsistent. A few examples of this inconsistency: - Tanjiro using water breathing to manipulate Yahaba's arrows - Tanjiro hearing the sound of thunder when Zenitsu crashed out against that one spider demon - that same spider demon saying that the air is vibrating right as Zenitsu was about to unleash his final attack - a bunch of the little spiders being blown back, and the ground breaking from the "electricity" emitted from Zenitsu's body - Tanjiro unleashing a flying slash of water to cut down a tree - the sister spider demon literally HOLDING ONE OF SHINOBU'S BUTTERFLIES (though that could be a hallucination from the poison) - Daki feeling a burning sensation after being hit by Tanjiro's hinokami Kagura - Muchiro's entire seventh form (I know how it's MEANT to work, but Gyokko seemed to imply there was actual mist) - this very video right here. Sanemi is cutting down multiple demons in one swing, WITHOUT touching them.

1. if yahabas arrows can manipulate and control susamarus temaris, then its not too much of a leap to guess that it can also control tanjiros blade, but it worked against him bc of the way tanjiro was moving his blade 2. its stated that thunder breathing users are quite literally moving with the speed to create the sound of thunder but that doesent mean theres literal thunder striking 3. same reason as 2 4. same reason as 2 5. literally cant explain this one 6. like you said, probably an illusion from the poision 7. Its said that the breath users are imitating the elements, so basically tanjiro is literally striking with the sheer force to feel as though it burns (its also bc of sword technique but im not gonna explain all that) 8. if i had to guess abt this one its most likely that muichiro is running at full speed in circles around gyokko so that he cant hit him and then stopping mid run which confuses gyokko bc he cant predict what hes going to do 9. wind breathing is LITERALLY the user creating winds to attack the enemy along with regular sword slashes, for example wind breathings ninth form (i think its that form) is literally sanemi slashing the air so hard that it creates gales of wind that shred the enemy

Let me do a full breakdown of this Tanjiro's Water breathing being able to manipulate the arrows is due to the gravitational force tanjiro creates by swinging the sword just like a sea wave does. Thunder Breathing uses mucles of the leg with so much force that the sound of thunder that Tanjiro hears is actually the force that zenitsu releases from his legs forcing the ground down so hard it creates the sound of thunder The air Vibrating is the same thing as i just explained, the air vibrating is due to zenitsu putting alot of force in his legs that makes the ground shake due to so much force that he pushes down onto the ground preparing to release it and the air is vibrating due to the ground vibrating. The Spiders being blown back is kind of the same thing, the force and vibration of the air is so strong it creates a wind current strong enough to blow back individuals. The water u see when tanjiro cuts down a tree is actually just an extention of his swords, the animators make sure u see the sword but the water is actually a extention so tanjiro actually hits the tree with his sword And yes, shinobu's butterflies are actually the hallucinations of the poison, shinobu strikes so quickly and the poison is very fast to have effect, so when u see the butterflies, shinobu already stabbed her enemy. Daki feeling a Burning sensation when cut by the Hinokami Kagura is cause Hinokami Kagura is actually Sun Breathing (Hino no Kokyu?) Sun Breathing/Hinokami Kagura is like flame breathing, the fraction made by the sword is so harsh and raw that it burns the skin due to fraction, the Sun breathing/Hinokami Kagura technique burns it so much that it actually burns the enemy on a Cellular/Atomic level, that is why demons cant regenerate so well or regenerate with scars when cut with it. The Seventh form of the mist breathing is actually Muichiro swinging the sword so fast that the afterimages created by him look like actual mist to the point you cant see the difference, just like if u move ur hand rlly fast it looks like u have multiple hands, the same counts for mist breathing but it is so fast it looks like mist Sanemi's wind breathing is actually one of the only breathing styles that creates elemental effects, the power sanemi creates with his swings creates wind currents that are very sharp, just like gyutaro's blood sickles.

@@spartaguy5338 it actually does, the thing is.. tengens swords are regular swords. The bombs are not all the explosions. Tengen smashes his sword so hard it creates an explosion out of pure fraction. Take as example when gyutaro jumped towards him from the building and tengen's weapon and his collided. That is his effect, explosions by sword impact.
