FINALLY an eye tutorial that doesent require resin!!! XD

+NeonBlackHeartAttack yep! Clear resin is tricky, it looks great but it can be hard and expensive. This technique will give you good looking eyes either way :)

This is a really creative technique! I love realistic eyes but never liked the follow-me effect because, like you, I love the performing aspect of fursuiting/cosplaying and want it to be obvious where the creature is looking. I'll definitely give this a try. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. :'3

rainbow wings That's what I was wondering about, too.
@KazplayVideos7 жыл бұрын
+rainbow wings with this technique you would have to have your vision come out of the mouth or have a mesh in the tear duct area(right next to the eye) of the suit right that you can see through
@Crw_Cipher7 жыл бұрын
Kazplay Videos okay that's how I usually see out of mine is just when I seen Gray-Mane it looked like he had like in the tear ducts a little space to see but it looks a little too small to see if so I assume that maybe you saw the mouth of him he is really cool keep up the great work😁

Tiny Badger here on YT linked me to this from her recent dragon puppet. These are beautiful eyes. I started off wondering why you didn't just use acrylic cabuchons and a printed eye but then when the camera zoomed in on the head and the eyes ate the end and i saw the depth of detail that came through in just a video I didn't have to wonder. The depth of detail in person must be striking.

I sculpt and hope you don't mind if I add a tip. If you can't get any isopropyl myristate, lighter fluid or naptha works well. You have to let it sit for a few minutes before working with it so the clay dries.

@dazedpossum6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for sharing! I've loved watching your progress on Hogger, that's how I found you (on Twitter), and I've been looking through your backlogs since. I'll definitely have to try this technique out once I have reason to. For future reference, do you think white/other colors of craft foam could be used for the sclera? Or do you think it wouldn't work out/would show because of the black backing for the pupil? I could always try it out and let you know, haha.
@KazplayVideos6 жыл бұрын
+Fox Mulder I have done it with a off white/brownish sclera on a Lynx cosplay I made earlier this year and it worked well! I just painted the black foam (it wasn't too hard) you can use white or another color foam, just put a small piece of black fabric or foam just over the hole in the back before doing the whole sclera bit :)

@KazplayVideos6 жыл бұрын
you're not meant to see through the eyes, my Greymane cosplay had vision through the mouth. A common method to use with this method is called tear duct vision, you make an extra space and use a mesh in the tear duct area to see through

Have you ever considered incasing the eye in resin inside the dome? Maybe give it that natural watery effect!
@KazplayVideos3 жыл бұрын
I have done that! It looks cool but can't be a little tricky getting rid of bubbles. I even added a tiny bit of white pigment to give my goatman eyes a milky blind look!
@Denizen-Unknown3 жыл бұрын
@@KazplayVideos OOOH I gotta check that out! Btw you've also saved my life. I was trying to figure out a unique way of pulling off this effect aside from doing that thing of just designing the eye on a halfway resin pour inside the mold, or using a printed design. This was so helpful!
