i can kind of understand why sonia thinks he's a stalker, after all they were on the killing game and a totally oblivious guy falls in love with you, it would be kind of scary and sonia also likes doramas and animes, so she was probably thinking that kazuichi would be a kind of yandere (considering she thought anime/manga clichés were real traditions in Japan) but outside of the killing game, they seem to have a normal relationship, and even had scenes of them close together in the last episode of danganronpa 3

Sonia and Kazuizhi definitely seemed to get closer after the simulation at least in the anime In danganronpa 2.5 it seems to be as if Sonia might've started getting feelings for Kazuichi, they seem to have more connection than the game and future arc and despair arc. i would have found this ship really cute if the dynamics between the two of them had been slightly different (maybe like in Nagito’s illusion, but with further development). but i still prefer it to Sondam. some people keep claiming that Sondam is canon or very close to it but it’s obviously not. just because he blushed a few times at her compliments doesn’t mean he has feelings for her. and just because she always seemed to defend him and compliment him doesn’t mean she’s in love with him. i’d say it’s more likely that she likes the idea of him. the idea of an eccentric emo boy who desperately tries to be edgy. this ship is far from canon, the dynamics between the two of them are not really engaging imo and it feels superficial. to be honest, i would find it much more wholesome if it were purely platonic.

i agree with your point of view about gundham/sonia! it seems too shallow and too "perfect" to me, they have a lot in common, which I find tedious for me. i also don't like the way gundham always belittles others or talks in that weird way, that annoys me. I think that kazuichi and sonia had an off-screen development, they were close in the last episode of danganronpa 3, and nagito's ova sonia was there waiting for kazuichi just like peko waiting for fuyuhiko and hajime waiting for nagito, I see it as a parallel, a little detail they added that means a lot

Okay, I’m gonna be honest, and please don’t give hate for this, this is solely my opinion. Sonia and Kazuichi would be REALLY good together if Kazuichi was less of a stalker. Stalker’s not really the right way to put it, more like a simp, but, simping really isn’t wrong, and you can’t blame Kazuichi. Now don’t get me wrong, I do ship Gundham and Sonia, but I believe Sonia should’ve gaven Kazuichi more of a chance for being one of the only ones to care for her a lot.
