Tekken 8 cutscenes vs Tekken 8 gameplay. Tekken devs really have to work on their fight animation. If you watch one Tekken fight you've seen everything the game has to offer visually. Every single character has the exact same hit reaction animations. And 44 times per match we see the same quick, weightless slaps and pokes while a character bounces along in the air mid fall. Every one the same, even bosses. One knee up, head back, slowly falling backward. Spinning for exciting variety. Laying on the ground like they fell asleep. Waking up like they're late for school.

The game has a complex animation system for a fighting game, wdym? I also think you're forgetting that players need visual cues to know what type of state the opponent is in on hit. Normal hit, nosebleed, launch, crumple, etc.
