The filming location of Kate's aunt's apartment is the EXACT SAME PLACE as in Leon: The Professional. Kate even uses the same apartment number from Leon when pretending to be a pizza delivery. Leon lived in 6D. Kate pushed the button for 6D to get someone to talk to her to unlock the door. Kate's aunt lives in Mathilda's family apartment. Even the little store where Leon bought milk is used as a hardware store in this show.

Info dump number 2. 1. The Tracksuit Mafia is so perfectly adapted from the comics. Their two main defining features were the tracksuits and the constant use of "Bro" and they're both here. 2. Yep, Clint got captured on purpose but of course he didn't tell Kate so she thought he was in actual danger. He was trying to do the same ploy Natasha was at the beginning of Avengers 1: get information by letting the enemy think they have control over the situation. 3. I love the subtle dynamic of Clint tending to do things on his own, sneaking around and just operating under the radar, while Kate relies much more on her social skills and people to accomplish her goals, like pressing all the buzzers until someone just let her in or getting away from Gary in the first episode by acting upset that he didn't know her name.

the way Kate was excitedly talking to herself about how Hawkeye was in her apartment made my heart burst she is just so freaking adorable and i love their chemistry/dynamic "That's Katniss Everdeen" lmao Clint actually enjoying himself at the LARP 😂 the way kate sounds kinda hurt that clint can't see how important he is to other people and how much he's inspired her in particular 💕🥺 When Kate fell through the ceiling at that moment Clint just seemed so disappointed hahaha Hope you're doing well today 💕

Kate Bishop is played by Oscar nominated Hailee Steinfeld. You may remember her from the 'True Grit' remake (Oscar nomination) and 'Pitch Perfect' 2 and 3. She also played Petra in 'Ender's Game,' Nadine in 'The Edge of Seventeen,' and Emily Dickinson in the show 'Dickinson' for which she won the Peabody award, and many other roles. She also voiced Gwen Stacy/Spider-Woman in 'Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse,' and Vi in 'Arcane.'

In the comic books Jack is actually 'Jacques Duquesnes' a character known as 'The Swordsman'. The deaf woman we see atr the end is a character known as 'Echo'.

Love your reaction Kazzy. The chemistry between Hawkeye and Kate is awesome! What an awesome show filled with action but so funny. Kate is played by a famous actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld who was nominated for an academy award and also won a Billboard Music award. She is so talented. I heard the producer of the show only wanted her. She’s just so down to earth and funny it doesn’t look like she’s acting and Jeremy Renner is awesome as well. Love this show and glad you are watching it. The guy with the mustache also plays a cartel leader on Better Call Saul.

Yeah you are going to enjoy this show. What you said about having a superhero parent reminded me of interviews with comic authors of superhero deconstruction works like The Watchman and The Boys. Those authors dislike superhero narratives because they tend to take away from everyday real life hero stories. The same thing could be said about people and families that work in first responder or dangerous jobs. The Canadian and US Coast Guards have been trained to believe they have to go out to help people in the worst of conditions. Their families know the daily risks they live with. The superhero narrative is a distraction but personally I think it is a reminder to everyday life. Hawkeye gets put down for being too normal but his type of character is a good reminder that common people can do remarkable things.

LARPing is a rather extensive community with many branches. This show depicts four very common aspects: foam based fighting, costuming, medieval setting, and light roleplaying. However, different organizations can and do have a wider range of aspects such as heavy roleplay, real (but dulled) weapons, staged fighting, horses, simulated magic, etc. Additionally, the groups can be set in a wide range of settings like medieval, present day, future, alternate history, and fantasy. Because different groups provide different things, your experience can vary greatly group to group and it is best to find one that you find interesting. If you are looking for something similar to what is depicted, I would recommend Amtgard, Belegarth, and Daoghir as they each have those aspects I mentioned at the beginning. Personally, I have done Amtgard and Dagohir and I find them very fun. I tend more toward the fighting aspects, but both have broader aspects beyond just those. For example, they both have a wide range of artisan skills within the communities including: sewing, weaving, black smithing, among others. The most important thing to remember is that you should not be expected to participate beyond the level you feel comfortable. That is one big thing the show gets wrong. No one should being forcing you to fight anyone. Also, some aspects were a little over exaggerated like the “cling, cling” noises being made (LARPers don’t really do that), they are much better fighters than is depicted, and the weapons are much sturdier. If you want to see another example of LARPing, you should check out the “Role Models” movie. It’s even more exaggerated than the show, but it does depict some of the social challenges you could see in a LARP group fairly well (I can’t explain more without spoilers).

Yes. The actress in question is Deaf. Her Name is Alaqua Cox. She will be reprising this role in an upcoming Disney plus spinoff series, ironically titled,Echo. The actress who plays Kate Bishop is Halee Steinfeld I recommend that you watch The True Grit remake By The Coen Bros. SHE KILLED IT IN THAT FILM!

My fave Avenger when I read comics was Hawkeye. He's not the keenest apple in the barrel, but he is the sharpest shot in the quiver. I think when you see these superheroes you might want to identify with them in some way. Am I a billionaire like Stark? No Am I an Asgardian Godling? No. Am I a human who could hone my skills with years of practice - Yes. Plus he has a loving family - if you hate him you hate love.
